Spare Room is... live jazz loud enough to groove to, soft enough to still speak over... a menu that reads so delicious that you’ll struggle to decide, and the taste does not disappoint... a buzzing atmosphere, even on a mid-week night... engaging waiting staff... generally a thoroughly enjoyable night out!

Travelling through on our way home to Melbourne, we stumbled across this gem on a Tuesday and were delighted with our experience. I'm gluten and dairy free and was made to feel welcome and accommodated for right from the front door where we were greeted by the host and handed over with care to our waitress. The mushroom pizza I ordered was the tastiest pizza I've ever eaten and the market fish my partner had was exquisite. We spent the whole meal talking about how delicious the meal was and found the host and chef afterwards to share with them how much we enjoyed their food. As we paid the bill we noticed a CD for sale called The Spare Room Collection which we were told was a jazzy compilation of their regular musicians, so we bought that and that's delightful too! Overall The Spare Room impressed with a warm atmosphere, lots of interesting seating options, a quaint courtyard with festoons and fantastic food!

Amazing place, exquisite food, amazing service and gorgous atmosphere. Loved everything about my experience there. I can't fault the food or service. I used to work in silver service and the food was comparable in quality which is very rare to find!

Lovely place to enjoy a few glasses of Red Wine and a Delicious Pizza. I recently visited the Spare room on the 5th of Nov. I enjoyed an Entrèè of Anchovy Toast and Mushroom Pasta Dish. Delicious. Live Music was being played too. Must Visit. Highly Recommended ♡♡♡♡♡

Dinner tonight, simplyfabulous. We had the Scollops, superb not over cooked, great flavours. Anchovy toast, not so much for me hubby loved it..Great Prawn pizza. Pair and Walnut salad is superb.Paulo our host/waiter is attentive and charming .excellent service.Thank you for a great night.

We had an amazing experience here at The Spare Room last night . The ambiance was amazing, live jazz music, our waitress was very attentive in making us comfortable and the food was exceptional. We all had different meals that we shared because we wanted to try the different flavours of the meals and I must say Wow , we couldn’t fault anything. Complements to the chefs . We know now why this place is so busy. Complements to all the staff and the owners of the spare room . We missed out last time we were here but I’m so glad we booked to try this place out . Make sure you book so you don’t miss out .

Amazing pizza and cocktails! The staff were so friendly and helpful, we went for a wander up the street between our first lot of drinks and dinner and they saved our sparkling water for when we got back! My partner ordered the zombie Mama cocktail and it was excellent! They do vegan cheese for their pizzas as well! The atmosphere was wonderful, I'd love to come back on a night they have music on too!

Starters were good, pasta very oily and definitely not pleasant. We moved 3 time due to the band being so loud and insult to injury they charged us $5 per head for the band. Very disappointed

Pretty cool venue with some great cocktails. Very popular at happy hour! The bar staff are great and super accomodating. However it could be improved if the happy hour selection was larger or changed occasionally, also the beer selection is uninspiring and could be changed up.
