Very dissappointed with my visit. Overpriced books and not a very large collection. I collect vintage children's book and ones of value and there were none of those here. Overall underwhelming.

This is a phenomenal find on Collins! Found while taking a casual stroll along the street. What looks like a tiny quaint shop from the street, gives way to an wonderfully expansive (but not overly large) store inside. Every aspect of this store is a feast for the eyes - from the different rooms and levels giving way to a treasure trove of beautiful old and rare books, to the literally hundreds of owl figurines found allover the store. A wonderfully charming place to lose yourself (and very friendly staff). I will return here again! A definite must see on a trip to Melbourne!

Omg. This place. If you are a book lover, please visit. There is such a history here. Some of these books are centuries old, which is hard to take in when you see them so well preserved. If I had the money, I would invest in some of these treasures. It was just absolutely amazing.

Kay Craddock is like a well-kept secret that's not quite a secret. Walking past you wouldn't know that it's an antique bookstore; it's kind of huddled under another building but once you come in you can see just how much stuff they've crammed into such a small space. The store has books whose publication dates were in the 1700s lining shelves with rare volumes from the late nineteenth and twentieth century. They also have a small art corner, as well as glass cabinets with items and curios on display for appraisal, and which also add to the decor.For those who can't make it out to the store on a regular basis, there are newsletters published regularly that give a quick rundown on that month's or week's specials and any items of interest to collectors.I've kept a nice handle on old gardening books from here, and I fully intend to keep my eye out on what's being bought and sold here to see if I can snap up a good deal.

A lovely bookstore ruined by incredibly rude service.

MAGIC!! I couldn't tell if I was in an ancient library or museum or Owl sanctuary! . This was remarkable and totally unexpectedly stumbled upon this shop. Its like going back in time to eras when I wasn't even born. The children's section was nothing but pure enchantment. I felt so transported into what felt like the rabbit hole of Alice in Wonderland.. old fans like mother goose nursery rhymes, noddy, winning the pooh all the original golden circle books plus magazines of Elvis, film books, beautiful bibles with leather covers and all the history books. I can't explain it. I wanted to stay for hours or buy the whole lot! Please go yo this hidden gem whether you are into books or not you may just come out of this time tunnel aa a different person.
