KurandaOriginal Rainforest MarketsVisited on 15/7/2022The Markets are in the Kuranda village / township. They are not far from the Kuranda Skyrail Terminal. They have been around since 1978, and was renovated in 2005. The Markets resemble a shopping mall with overhead transparent roof.Local crafts people display their beautifully hand-crafted wares, Including aboriginal souvenirs. There are a number of Made in Australia" signs proudly displayed at some stalls

Larger and more interesting than the Kuranda Heritage Market. Many outdoor stalls selling crafts, clothing, produce and homemade goods. Various dining options. Seems very touristy but was worth a wander around. Only open Wednesday to Sunday.

My husband and I spent a really happy day wandering around Kuranda. We really loved the atmosphere of the Rainforest Markets. Most of the sites were open and we were brought into a different world of smells and sights. The Easy Tiger Tapas restaurant took our eye for a morning coffee and an Iced Chocolate. Both were delicious. We headed into town and enjoyed spending time there, but decided to return to the same little Tapas restaurant for lunch - it turned out to be a wise choice as every dish was delicious.

Nice market, great vibes, happy people! They sell bubble tea here too. Just about ten minutes walk from the station and probably the best market out of all!

I went off season and there were shops that weren’t opened. I didn’t take too many photos as it is the atmosphere that I felt there, all the shopkeepers were nice. The market was actually quite big in a sense that you will need half a day to really explore it properly. I also loved that there were organic shops to eat at.You really have to look around to notice where you’d spend your money on here. I went into the shops that were all locally made and produced from Kuranda and not the souvenir shops as I support locally made organic shops. I also spent money on stand alone businesses like tarot reading etc. I spoke to Karen at rare earth oils half the day and Heidi at her clothes shop to pick up a rare cotton vest.

From Cairns took this tour via skyrail and will return via scenic train. Absolutely breathless traveling through rainforest via skyrail and stopping at two separate stops ti learn about the origins and evolution of this rainforest.

What a fantastic market to visit, as it's its so unique and has such a quirky and spiritual vibe about it. We just love walking around the little stalls selling a lot of unique gifts and arts and crafts. The cafes are just so cute with outdoor tables to enjoy the serenity of the Rainforest. Can't wait to go back one day.
