Berrima Courthouse
A small town with historical buildings like the court, but nothing to visit inside. There is a prison still operating next to the court. There are few shops in the town and you taken a coffee break there

Loved this place. Highly eductional but wildy fun and spooky at the same time. The local community has created a real gem here.

The sound and light show is quite tacky using old technology. Younger ones might find it a bit creepy. There really is not a whole lot to see and the most interesting thing was the day one small room with historical artifacts.

I recommend the court house tour. The older gentleman volunteer, who was an ex-lawyer, was very entertaining and informative. Just his performance alone is worth the visit.

What a wonderful tourist attraction. An educated walk back to the 1830's.Very knowledgeable volunteer staff presented a great history of the Courthouse. The courtroom electronic presentation was very good.More than happy to pay the entry fee. It's put to a good cause.Put a few hours aside, visit before lunch and then wander through the village. You'll find a range of cafes and pubs that should meet your dining requirements.A great day out from Sydney.

For anyone interested in Australian history this place has it in spades. It tells the tale of Lucretia Dunkley and her execution and the Germans in ww1

Enjoyed a trip down Australian history lane. Was fascinated to learn about the importance of the Berrima court house and the part it played in NSW history. The gift shop is full of great books and souvenirs. Went for the tour which included a visual and sound display of a court case which was eventful. I recommend including this on your intinery when visiting Berrima. Takes around 30 minutes to complete and you will have a greater understanding of Australian history.

A man conflicted by nationality may approach you at the door to the ticket room/gift shop. “Where is your passport?” (I was born in Kogarah, my partner in Laguna province, my family migrated here rnd. 1870), which is mildly funny, however about 6 references to nationality later you wonder what the man’s point is — he decided I was English (?) finding information on the website is recommendable if your accent is broad and you marked “Australian” or “Anglo-Celtic” under ancestry in the census you’ll slip right through. Barriers for others.Surely he’s going for charm. Perhaps, he’s well educated on this small part of whole that is the local history, which is important.
