Fish Pier The GlenVisited on 28/12/2020Being the only fresh fish store in The Glen, there isn't much option if one has to shop for fresh fish and other seafood, eg. prawns, mussels, pappies, fish heads/bones for soup. The Glen shopping Centre is located in an very Asian / Chinese concentrated are, and therefore fish pier sells whole fish in addition to fillets and cutlets, and varieties for the Asian needs and palates. On the day of my visit, I discovered the alphabet f" was missing from the shop sign. I wonder the owner of the shop knows about this and fixes it before my next visit."

Bought just under 600g of 'premium' seafood mix. This is what i got. What a joke. Won't be back.

Update after a year:This is probably the most expensive fish shop in the area. Most of the sea food is frozen and even fresh ones are so-so quality. $50-$60/kg for fish fillets is a very doubtful price. I would suggest you to go to Dandenong Market if you like high quality seafood with reasonable price. Only go there to buy local stuff like rainbow trout and mussels. Overall, what rip off.It used to be my favourite fish shop as there just aren’t many around Glen Waverley. The barramundi is reasonably fresh, but got two slimy fishy mackerel with sunken and cloudy eyes. I can tell the flesh is decomposing and it is Not edible. If I recall right, I bought some nice mackerel from them on Thursday and it still looks like the same batch on Saturday. I don’t think fatty fish like mackerel can last longer than 2days. They must have put in the fridge at the end of the day and Never check if they are alright, meaning they don’t get fresh stock often. The mackerel is just disgusting. It’s also a bit over priced. Just make sure you know what you are buying and remember to double check: smell it, feel it before you cook them. I will be very careful with this shop from now on.

Very satisfied with the sashimi grade salmon and oysters purchased over the weekend. Very fresh and oysters were a good size. Price was reasonable.

Many choices of fish are available and fish are very fresh as well. We shop here for certain fish (eg Rockling) not available at Woolworths or Coles. The salmon sashimi is excellent and good value if you are making sushi at home.

The whole fish always looked very fresh and taste fresh. Has no concern so far. Pricing are also quite reasonable for a shopping centre i think compared to other shopping centre. The price is higher than Springvale or Boxhill but you usually get what you pay for right? I think a lot of people like to compare the shop with the fish in market which usually smells very bad. Oysters are always fresh and well priced.

i'm impressed, these guys can spot a customer miles away and they'll attend to you in the quickest time possible, peak hour or not, they won't let you wait. i particularly look at eye colour of a fish before i buy . Red means they're not that fresh , white is good , means they're fresh. That's how my wife taught me how to choose and buy. These guys sell fish with white eyes. Thumbs up:)

Terrible service. Woman in the front counter charged a surcharge for a 10c plastic bag. Terrible service and extremely rude. Will never ever come here

We are semi frequent customers of Glen Waverley Fish Pier and only purchase the sashimi and fillet salmon. I say semi frequent because every salmon fillet purchase is a gamble to see if we can find bones. We're not the best chefs so we find it hard to take the bones out ourselves and occasionally have bitten into the bones we missed.Today we purchased 2 fillets because why not, it's been a while, maybe they've changed? I really didn't expect much from this place but the quality has gotten so low that we have now discovered WORMS. Yes WORMS. Save your stomach and don't waste your time or money here.Absolutely disgusted. I'd like to see change but honestly I very much doubt it. Anyone know a good place to get fresh and nonparasitic salmon? I'm all ears.
