Cudgen Nature Reserve
We are lucky to have this area of vegetation in our coastal region.

The Lake is shallow (most is less than half meter deep), unsuitable for large boats but excellent for kayaks. Vegetation is quite thick in places. Lots of birds.

We enjoyed a peaceful morning paddling our kayaks around on the lake. We saw black swans, water hens, herons and eagles. The water was clean, I only saw one piece of rubbish (which we took away). The carpark at the end of Tamarind Drive is great for parking with the trailer and the ramp makes it easy to enter and exit the water. We didn't stop for a picnic today, but there are tables there if we wanted to use them.

A lovely quiet area to connect with nature. It was so peaceful when we went with not another soul around. There are areas where you can set up a picnic or access the lake. No motorised vehicles are allowed on the water.

A beautiful part of the coast, mostly unchanged over the decades. A lovely family friendly place, relaxed and not on steroids like the Gold Coast! Great surf at Cabba headland, the lake is a lovely place to take the kids. Toilets and swings, barbecue at headland as well, enjoy!

A nice place to see the local environment. Local bird and animal life. You can kayak or paddle board. No power motors allowed. It is worth a visit if you live photography, nature etc.

This place is in an appalling and neglected state with squatters everywhere, piles of rubbish and the stench of raw sewerage. The road to the lake is blocked by squatters who have built lean-tos on the lane way. Have never seen such a terrible nature reserve. Even the wild animals wouldn’t like it.

Beautiful place for a walk along the beach and a swim. Lots of wildlife if you are observant enough to spot.
