Was so close to giving a 1 star review but giving this place the benefit of the doubt. The food tasted decent and was well priced, and they squeezed us in on short notice with the truck show weekend. But the food took well over an hour to come out, and was stone cold. We ordered parmas and the cheese wasn't even melted. As far as pubs go it couldn't even be classed as a busy night really. I know they were short staffed but it seemed like there was plenty of people around, but only one person who looked like they knew what she was doing. A very hard worker who should be appreciated. But the nail in the coffin came from the filthy table - dust was absolutely caked on it against the wall.Just a bit of the shame really!

There was no Irish food on the menu and no Irish beer which is very strange for a pub that is supposed to be Irish!? Seems like a family business with hard workers but everything needs a serious update - menu and dining area.

What an amazing country pub! We had the mouth watering open souvlaki, tasty chicken burger and massive kids nuggets and chips. The food was delicious, drinks cold and lovely service. Sitting outside in the garden was perfect for young kids to run around and allowed the adults to enjoy a dinner out. Thanks to the lovely staff for making us feel so welcomed.

We probably should have had an idea of what dinner would be like by the fact there was only 1 other table of people when we arrived at peak dinner time.Staff were a bit frazzled when we ordered, running all over the place despite not being busy. The hotel very dated and looking to be falling apart and the toilets were really vile. The quality of the meals should really be at a much lower price point. My salt & pepper calamari tasted like frozen from the box. I had 6 tiny pieces on a plate that was all chips and iceberg lettuce. We stayed because we were starving and there was nothing else around. Should have made a sanga at the caravan park and saved $94.00. On the plus side, it was hot.

I phoned up to see if we could have a meal there with a group of 9 people and 3 dogs, they could have been any more accommodating. The publican said come on over and sit out the back in the beer garden, so that's what we did.The pub is old and does look dated but don't judge a book by its cover. The meals for ALL 9 of us were 5 star, the girls in the kitchen were so lovely and working extremely hard due to staff shortages thanks to Covid. Well done Shamrock, its great to see some good old-fashioned service.

So disorganised, booked a table for 12 with the owner 2 weeks earliergot there & no table reserved. They sorted it out, but meals where terribe & overcooked plus would of been over charged if I didn't pick up on it& happened to others on the table as well . A disgrace, never again unless they get new management

Had a booking for 3 nights that was confirmed by the owner 4 days prior. On arrival at the hotel after a long tiring day the place was locked up & in total darkness. Received a voice message to leave a message as the phone cannot be answered at present. Never received call apologising from the owner. Would not recommend the place due to very poor basic customer service. No stars for service.

We had dinner at the Shamrock and it was a truly lovely evening. Very unassuming front of building and bar, but the bistro area is warm with a lovely roaring fire and nice interior, and the staff are friendly, helpful & welcoming. Food was simple and delicious. We have young children and the children’s menu was generous and yum. The owner was diligent with hand sanitiser and social distancing.

If you are after a dive bar that charges $12 for a pint of Carlton, then this place is for you. Accommodation is nothing to write home about - would only recommend it if there is nothing else available. Beds and linen are good and rooms are clean, but the shared bathrooms are not. I felt unsure if the owner was serious about running the place as a successful business - it really can't compete with the other 2 pubs in town.
