Apogee Tasmania | Andrew Pirie, Sparkling wine and ALTO Pinot Gris & Pinot Noir | Apogee Tasmania - Andew Pirie. Apogee is a small production Vineyard and Single Vineyard Origin label located 30 minutes North of Launceston where the wines are 100% grown and the sparkling wine is disgorged on the property. Andrew Pirie, founder of Pipers Brook, Ninth Island and Pirie sparkling labels, is an expert on wine terroir and vineyard site selection, holds Australia's first PhD in viticulture and has used his experience to select the Apogee site.

We had a fantastic time! Bron was an excellent host and very knowledgable and passionate about the wines and local area. The wines were of course exceptional. We would highly recommend calling to make an appointment so you don’t miss out on this gem.

What a beautiful little cellar door with wines of perfection. Bron was just lovely with genuine passion and knowledge.We managed to snag a bottle of the in demand Vintage Rose and also bought delicious Pinot Noir. All the wines are amazing-its a must visit while you are in the area. Its very easy to make an appointment-they are quick to get back to you by email. We are so glad we went. Andrew's ethos and commitment to his project is amazing. Skip the bigger sparkling houses and come here. Bron,thanks for ringing Sinapius for us after we got caught in the rain storm and for your relaxed but informative tasting. It was an awesome experience.

Seriously the most incredible wines - did a tasting with Andrew Pirie himself and was blown away by the man's knowledge and passion for viticulture. Came away with a couple of bottles. Best vineyard in the Tamar valley.

A must visit for sparkling wine or champagne enthusiasts! The current vintage of pinot noir on offer is also a lovely and complex Tasmanian drop, very enjoyable. Bron was personable and knowledgeable. Having a tasting with her was a highlight of our trip.

An amazing afternoon with Andrew, Bron and Ollie learning about wine making and techniques that have been used for centuries. The platters that we were given for lunch were ladden full of cheese and local produce as well as lovely home made frittata. The wines were fantastic and we really enjoyed wandering the gardens with Ollie

After 7 long years it was wonderful to step through the doors of Apogee again - such a beautiful little cellar door with wines of perfection.Thank you Bron for looking after us so well at our private tasting - you are just lovely and have such genuine passion and knowledge.The wines are amazing of course - definitely a must visit while you are in the area. Andrew's ethos and commitment is also spectacular.Bron, thanks for the tip on heading to Lalla Colline - another must visit cellar door and Ian looked after us so well too.
