The Beachcomber Hotel & Resort, Ascend Hotel Collection

It was such a lovely long weekend at the Beachcomber Resort.Lovely array of drinks and food.Staff were all friendly and accommodating.Ill definitely be returning.Only notes were my room in 512 was quite light during the night due to street lights, and the pillows were like feathers as I sleep with a foam one at home. Nothing that detracted from my weekend away though.

Horrible food. I ordered a margarita pizza and it was soggy and had so much cheese on it. Traditional Italian pizza doesn't have 1/2 kilo of cheese on it. And the Greek salad was very average. As I picked up the food, I asked the staff if there was dressing on the salad and the staff asked the chef and I could see her pull a face and say of course. Well, clearly she was wrong. No dressing on the Greek salad.These are 2 very simple dishes. How could they get it so wrong. And how can they be so smug about it. A guess the venue and view is a distraction from the substandard food. I'm a foodie and travel everywhere to have a good food experience. Give this place a miss if you want a good food experience.

I drove 1.5 hrs to get there because I had a friend's 40th at the pub there today. I want to shout out to Shanice who was so awesome with us today and looked out for us, same with the lovely man making the cocktails. I had a pizza which was called the Italian by we were intrigued by the potatoes on it, was so delicious. Great place to have a celebration with loved ones.

Very nice feel to the place felt luxurious great modern room with good features.Loved breakfast over looking the lakeStaff pleasant and help full.The pool looked lovely although the weather didn't suite swimming at the time.Overall I felt we got value for money worth for our 4 day stay

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to families with kids or people who has sleep issues!First I would like to share the great experiences during my stay.The hotel is at perfect location. We booked the waterfront room and the view was stunning. Staffs are very friendly and restaurant food is great at very affordable prices. And they have a little farm and playground just next to the water. So I think to some extent it is a kids friendly hotel.Everything was perfect for a family stay until night. The bar music was extremely loud until 10:30pm. I rang the reception and got told that due to the public holiday, the pub will open until midnight. None of my kids and my elder parents can fall asleep until the music stopped. Even the receptionist said they will turn down the music, but they didn’t until 10:30pm and after that the music was in a bearable volume until midnight. If you want to know how loud it was, just imagine you are sleeping right next to the DJ.Our family like to travel and we have stayed in all kinds of places. This one has provided the worst sleep experience. I believe ensuring a good sleep environment is one the first priorities being a hotel. But for this part, this hotel is definitely not qualified. If you consider to stay here, pick a time that is not weekend or public holiday.

Firstly let me say the rooms are fantastic clean serviced daily can’t say anything bad about that but unfortunately it stops there. Food was average it is fresh but has no taste it is lacking some flavour both for Beachies and The Pelican. We couldn’t use the resort facilities in New Year’s Eve as a paying guest one would think that this would not be the case, we couldn’t access the main bar, the gaming area, we were also told kids has to leave the function room on level 5 by 9.30pm on New Year’s Eve so what are we to do with the kids after that time leave them in the room by themselves.There is also a smell from the lake that the facility backs onto that isn’t pleasant at all.

I had an overnight stay on May 15, 2023, on a golf trip to Toukley with two pals. Our respective ages are 80, 79 and 65. We have been around long enough to be legitimately discerning in our choices and to have acquired a comprehensive, comparative scale of travel standards. We were welcomed at the Beachcomber with sincere enthusiasm, kindness and courtesy. Our rooms were splendid. We had a walk around the facilities and discovered that they represented the features of an authentic resort. The Bistro menu and food presentation was fabulous. The bar service was world class and charming. Before dinner, we drank Shiraz on the massive verandah and toasted the impressive sunset on the western side of the calm lake. Later, we enjoyed the bar services for quite a while before retiring. Breakfast the next morning was of a fine dining standard. Check-out was pleasant and efficient. Obviously, management had delivered an extensive effort on staff training as staff professionalism was of a particularly high standard in all areas. We'll be back.

**Food/ pub review only:Great ambience, atmosphere and cleanliness. Amiable staff and amazing scenic views from the pub itself. However the food was mediocre - do not recommend the 1/2kg buffalo wings (weird sauce, was like spicy ketchup) or chicken tacos (chicken overcooked & dry). The fish tacos were decent. Wish they improved on their mayo/ tartare/ aioli as the ones used on the tacos just tasted weird..

This is a hidden gem. I was absolutely job smacked when I pulled up out the front. This is grand new resort ie some 2 years old and looks as if it came out of Key Largo or Palm Springs.The hotel is modern and no expense has been spared.Great pool & bar area with views over the lake.The bistro meals were very good and very inexpensive.My room was large, very comfortable and modern. Staff were fabulous. Great resort to spend a leisurely weekend away from Sydney.

Have not been here since about 1976. What a change. The Beachie is an amazing resort right on the water. No need to leave! Great location, stylish, on trend, great food, great rooms and service? On point. A short drive will take you to nearby beaches, but with a great pool, water views and cocktails, you don't need to leave!!
