Toukley Thai - Restaurant

I have to keep posting great reviews, cos the food is just so authentic with the aromas and spices.We've just eaten in Asia for the past 3 weeks, and the food here, is at least as good as anything we've eaten.Great portion sizes, can't wait till the coconut ice cream hits the menu.

We had the spring rolls, massman curry and pad thai. All dishes were authentic and flavoursome. Well done Toukley Thai, see you again soon!

OMG AMAZING, The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious.we had Deep fried Tofu with satay, chicken stir fry ( onion only,I don't eat vegs) in garlic and pepper sauce,and. Soft shell crab in garlic and pepper.YUM.

We visited this restaurant after reading the nice reviews here as we were in the area for Christmas Eve, and we were not disappointed. The food was so delicious, good portion size and the price was great! The food always came out hot. The service was excellent and all the staff were very nice too.We ordered the satay chicken rice paper rolls - omg yum! The texture of the rice paper was chewy and stretchy, on point *chefs kiss* - I’m a Vietnamese myself and I’ve had lots of rice paper but this one was surely hard to forget. The satay chicken was tender and so flavourful, the peanut dipping sauce tasted delicious!We also had the salt and pepper squid, pineapple fried rice (was busy with the kids so I forgot to take a picture of it), beef boat noddle soup and deep fried barramundi fillet with tamarind sauce. We would come back and order these again. If you’re a Thai food lover you know not many places make boat noodle soup. This one here tastes so authentic. Also highly recommend the deep fried barramundi with tamarind sauce, it’s got lots of vegetables in it too.Only thing to suggest is to have more high chair as the restaurant only has one. At the time we were there another table already had it so we had to take turn to carry our baby and eat. But we were told that when making the booking and we were okay with that. But We saw another table that also had a young baby had to carry their baby as there was no other high chair so this could affect the dining experience. But nevertheless, we will come back for their delicious food if we visit the area again.Also the mobile phone number listed here sometimes does not work as when I tried to call and message to reschedule my booking, but the call couldn’t come through as the service had incoming call restrictions, I messaged but got reply, until I was told that they didn’t receive any of my texts. Lucky I was able to make a new booking on their website and found the landline number on the booking confirmation email.

Sorry but this restaurant is not good. Barramundi with Ginger Sauce - extremely watery, we could barely taste any ginger. Same with Massamun beef - horribly watery! You might save $ by watering down the cuisine but you will lose customers! Also bones in the Barramundi - take care! I'm from Sydney Eastern suburbs & used to good quality Thai food.This place is terrible.

I really enjoy a good Thai meal, and this restaurant ticked all the boxes and more, the fried tofu is amazing, the soft shell crab with garlic and pepper was delicious, my partner had the garlic and pepper chicken and received exactly how it was ordered for her with extra chillies on the side and was yummy ! Thanks Dan and Toi, we will be back.

I ordered here for the first time because the menu looked great. Probably the worst Thai food my husband and I have eaten on the North coast since we moved here. I wanted to take the time to post this review because not only was the quality of food poor, items were incorrect and it was delivered later than we were told, but the customer service was not satisfactory. I will elaborate below:Food quality -- Overall the food was cold/slightly warm.- I ordered the deep fried tofu and it was sharp, chewy and cold - so much so that it was hard to swallow. The tofu was not freshly cooked!-The Massaman beef was almost cold. The consistency was extremely watery with barely any meat and only two undercooked pieces of potato. Due to this watery consistency, the dish was lacking the usual delicious flavour that 'Massaman' is known for. Very disappointing, considering the price the restaurant is charging for this.- I also ordered 2 chicken satay rice paper rolls. I received the incorrect ones and was given the tofu rolls. These rice paper rolls had only a couple of tiny pieces of tofu and were more of a 'salad' roll and came with a satay sauce in a container.- The coconut rice was almost cold, although the coconut flavour was ok.- The chicken pad thai was just warm. The restaurant offered the choice of crispy chicken for an extra $4! I selected this option. The chicken was soggy and sat in large chunks not properly sliced. The noodles and sauce were a thick consistency all clumped together. Sad to say the flavour was average.Toukley is just 10 minutes from my house so there is no excuse for the food to be cold.I rang and spoke nicely to the manager. Although he seemed like a nice man, he clearly did not know how to correctly handle a customer complaint and told me I should heat the food in the microwave if it wasn't warm enough for me. He also told me that my area was quite far from the restaurant? Not true. It is 10 minutes.I told him that if they can't guarantee the quality of food to my area, then they should not be delivering to me and that I should not have to microwave my food from a restaurant. He said all he could offer me was a replacement of the rice paper rolls. I said, I would not be ordering again so that is a waste of time. I said if anything I would be seeking partial refund for the poor quality food I received tonight. He said he would speak to the chef and call me back.When he rang back, the manager only offered me a refund of the incorrect rice paper rolls." He said that "the chef said everything was freshly cooked and driven straight to you! Sorry that you were unhappy with the food

Delicious Thai food. Tried the salt and pepper squid and had some BBQ pork with vegetables and sticky rice. Friendly staff. Thanks

Ordered from here for the first time tonight and I have to say, food was excellent! Very yummy and can’t wait to order again. I appreciate their attention to detail when it comes to allergies too. They highlighted the notes I put on some of the meals which made me feel comfortable with the food I was eating☺️ If I can though- the spring rolls were a little undercooked and not as crispy but still tasted good!
