Portion size were massive and taste was great. Chips could have been but better but no one is complaining. Service was excellent. They found us a table in a busy time and didn't rush us either. Will go back if we ever go back to Hahndorf.

Very friendly accommodating staff, great efficient service, able to answer our requests to cater for our child. Atmosphere was warm and inviting, homely and open furnishings with fireplaces but big windows to see outside as well. Toilets close by, kids colouring and kids meals. Food was sensational!! Servings were super generous and reasonably priced, incredible value for money. Really hard to find a good roast anywhere in Adelaide, the Roast Pork special was out of this world! The Sausage Platter was exceptional quality as well. Chefs did an outstanding job putting so many meals together and ready all at the same time, so quickly! Definitely will come back to try the rest of the menu.

We stopped at this quaint little town in Hahndorf to do a little site-seeing and shopping. There were a lot of pubs, cafés and shops. We ended up having dinner at the German Arms Hotel. We got to sit outside which was nice and I had their Pesto Chicken Gnocchi which was so good. They didn't skimp on the chicken at all.

The food was delicious and everything you expect it to be. Make sure you're hungry as it is a big meal and worth the money. The customer service was definitely lacking though. Even when we were leaving I said thank you to the staff and just got stared at. Will definitely eat here again, just hope to get the staff on a happier day.

Iconic German restaurant in the heart of Hahndorf.I don’t think there’s a person that’s visited Hahndorf that hasn’t eaten here (or at least considered it), and there’s a good reason for itThe German arms is iconic Hahndorf food - heavy course, classic German food served perfectly and paired with some great beersI love coming here, but my waistline hates me for it - everything is delicious and it perfectly encompasses the townA must go

Nice place to have a simple lunch at. Had the chef's selection of gourmet wurst and chicken schnitzel. The sausages were nice, felt like they could offer one more variety of sausage for the price. The schnitzel was tasty but a little denser than expected.Overall it was good and simple.

This is a great German restaurant!! We ordered the Chicken Schnitzel, the slow-roasted Pork Hock and the 2 pretzels. About five minutes after ordering, the food arrived promptly on the table. The schnitzel was tender, moist, large-portioned and flavoursome, not dry at all. We all appreciated the yummy crunchy chicken-salt drenched chips that accompanied the schnitzel! The pork hock was similarly fall-off-the bone juicy and scrumptious. It has excellent ambience, good service and efficient as well. It was great to have such a lovely warm meal by the fireplace after a walking in from the cold air. We left feeling like we were in Germany.
