Wonderful experience! Genise was a very welcoming and informative host. Their products are first class, an exactly what you should expect from a micro distillery. Smooth and perfectly balanced body and flavour. These guys love what they do and it shows. Well worth the drive out from Dubbo

We highly recommend stopping here. If you love whiskey or rum your headed in the right direction. Super impressed with the quality of this local produce and looking forward to their peat whiskey release. We were greated by Frankie the Dachshund, and Brian and Genise have developed a great dram in this tiny NSW town. Excited to see what the future brings for this small batch distillery :). Thanks guys it was a pleasure!

Recommended by the local pub 500m up the road. Brian & Genise both stopped their work to make us feel welcome. What a treat to try warm climate whisky, delicious 'ranga' ginger-barrel rum & quirky quondong liqueur; quality crafted with a brilliant outcome. Will be making Mendooran a destination rather than a drive-through on the trip back.

I have very much liked Black Gate whisky for a while. We visited the distillery for the World Whisky Day. Such generous, kind and nice people Brian and Genise are. I can't thank them enough for the whole weekend of whisky and friendship.

We arranged a tasting and dinner over the Easter long weekend. Brian & Genise were warm, friendly & extremely knowledgeable hosts & distillers. We were collected from the local camp site in town, then driven to their grass roots distillery. We had an engaging & detailed story of their journey (over tasting their amazing collection of rum & whisky. The camp oven dinner was superb! We left with some amazing memories AND merchandise. Would highly recommend, if you’re even remotely ‘close by’...

Great to visit your friendly establishment last month, finaly opened the Apera Vatting yesterday for a tasting with monthly whisky appreciation group (three of us), all considered it an excellent drop.We are saving the 520 for New Years Eve in an attempt to sanitize ourselves for 2021.Thanks for your efforts.
