Turtons Creek Falls

Beautiful waterfall spot with a small path where you can stop for lunch or simply sit here for hours watching the water and meditating. This is not a hiking destination, more of a rest and relaxing destination. Still, it's a lesser known area of Wilson's Prom and would highly recommend a detour here if you have time, as you won't regret seeing a different angle of nature aside from the beaches of Wilson's prom.

It's not one waterfall but series of lovely cascades and 2 great waterfalls along Turtons creek road. Easy access through gravel road but some sections extremely narrow and in wet conditions can be challenging for 2wd cars. Access to water is relatively easy, some parts are overgrown but still possible to get through. No long hikes involved so kids will make it fine I assume if controlled and behaved.

Lovely views of the Falls and the stunning tree ferns but it appears the old camping and day trippers park is closed and overgrown.

5km up the dirt track, theres two spots for the falls. Official signs at the location are at the slightly smaller falls 200m up the track. But the main falls are much bigger where the picnic area is and ironically called Turtons Creek 'Little' Falls. Either way, the view of both falls are currently blocked by fallen trees as of Nov '21

This definitely used to be a 5 star location although since blocking off the old camping grounds and putting up a barrier at the falls with no access it's surely gone down hill. Still a lovely spot to cool down on a hot day

It's a fair way out to see this falls; our original plan was to visit on our way home from Wilson's Prom (that never happened) so we tacked it on to our visit to Traralgon (it was about an hour's drive away).An 8km drive down Turtons Creek Falls is where you'll find them. Although it's an unsealed road, because it's a logging track it's graded regularly so wasn't too bad with pot holes (although narrow).There is no reception out this way and there are no toilets. There is a metal guard restricting access to the Falls but it isn't a barrier to an eager and agile waterfall lover.I was glad to tick this one off my list and it was flowing nicely when we visited (had been wet in the days beforehand). It is not a spectacular falls but a nice addition to a trip through Gippsland.

Nice drive up to these falls

Nice falls especially after rain and just next to the road, no walking required other than a very short stroll. Beautiful area all around.
