La Pizzaiola
Reasonably priced, booked a table but was crammed in a bit, near the counter, but we could see they had much more space in the other room, we patiently waited thirty minutes for one pizza, as you excitedly do we couldn't wait to sink our teeth into our delicious pizza, NOT it had no WOW factor, it lacked cheese and sauce for starters and that's just the basics, if this is a hidden gem, I agree, it should stay HIDDEN

Really good food and atmosphere but service was terrible last night (older lady who was working). Sitting for 20 mins before being served, didn’t get acknowledged at all after the food came out. It’s usually so good here but :(

La Pizzaiola
Arrived around 7:45 and the temperature in house was sweltering and humid, immediately felt light headed and sick but wanted to stick it out to have a good pizza and wine. They took our order quickly but we had to request glasses for our table water and after waiting for 30 minutes went up and asked where our food was and was told “it would be 2-3 minutes”. After waiting another 30 minutes we went back up and asked again for our food and was told the same thing. After an hour and ten minutes we finally got our food only to be disappointed with the dryness of the chicken and burnt pizza on both of our pizzas. Went up to the teller and were charged 100 for 2 pizzas and wine which was the standard price but were only offered a $10 discount and were disregarded as important after we expressed our grievances. Very upsetting considering we knew the potential of the restaurant as we went 9 months ago and had a good time. Very big dip in service and the food quality and price was far below average.

We've been many times in the decades that this restaurant has been open (with several owners). Food has always been great, as it was on the most recent occasion. Our wine was great too and we were pleasantly surprised when our bill was only around $85 for two people.I'm a little reluctant to comment on service when every industry in Australia is short staffed. But La Pizzaiola was not understaffed. There were plenty of staff walking around, but nobody wanted to glance in our direction while we sat trying to make eye contact, repeatedly. Even when I did make eye contact I got a smile as the waitress walked past us instead of some attention on what our needs might be. I feel this is worthy of a comment as it's something that's easy to change with some training. There were many opportunities for staff to be offering to take orders, such as asking if they can get us drinks while we look at the menu, but attentiveness was lacking, and it was surprising. We had to pull them up for almost everything, nobody was trying to sell us an entrée, our next drink, or even our first. The only exception was the new owner asking if she could take our order in a timely manner - kudos to her.

Loved the decor. There were lots of empty tables but the person at cash register made it seem like it was an issue that we didnt have reservations. But algood. However, I had read raving reviews on the food and my oh my was it a let down. I dont know what i ate. Risotto cake was dry and burnt, prawns were rubbery and all you tasted was the cream. There was no seasoning, no salt and pepper offered, no flavour in the food. $31 is not what that meal was worth. There just was no joy in that meal, everything looked like it was just thrown on a plate and served up. Sometimes the most delicious meals are the ugliest, but this wasnt the case with this meal. Disappointed. Ambience was great.

(This is Toowoomba’s best kept secret) I’ve walked in past this magnificent restaurant for the last 20 years of my life and thought what it was like inside. Tonight I found out this hidden gem is criminally underrated. Unfortunately I read bad reviews before I went here which are absolutely incorrect. My party, a table for two which was inside the quaint warm restaurant where meet by a beautiful young lady and smart young chap who did there job’s perfectly we had an entree Barchetta and the prawn stacker mains was a pizza and pasta paired with a perfect bottle of red wine and then we had coffee and tiramisu. Which the chef executed all of these perfectly to the point the dash’s or where balanced but didn’t over power which other which is feet in itself and the pizza crust was on point, 28$ for a good bottle of wine really pin points that this is quality quantity and budget friendly. This says nothing for the owner who works in the front of house quietly making sure everyone is looked after it is just good to see a working boss engaged with her customers and may I say the coffee she made me was amazing and letting her create an Affogato was the right idea she knows what she is doing thankyou so much for the perfect night.

Cozy place, has been here for decades. No clue why I'm the first one to leave a review but it's all good, can't go wrong.

Ran into an issue with too many people (3kids who were seated on laps quietly) in our group booking, this was brought to their attention on arrival as we had asked about another table. We were seated anyway and had ordered drinks and food, been there for about 40 minutes when we were suddenly confronted by a lady who outed us in front of the full restaurant. Instead of quietly discussing the situation with us to come to a solution, it was loud and abrupt so we felt the only option we had was to get up and go elsewhere for dinner, which is what we did. I understand the booking error was on us but the situation was not handled professionally. Disappointing as the food is always really good, service not so much.

I organised a night with my girlfriends and La Pizzaiola is perfect for it. Such a cozy atmosphere with nice dimmed lights, pictures on walls, music, great service and of course food. It was my second time there and I have been telling everyone else to go and give it a try. Great sized menu with a lot of options. But the main part is the atmosphere, really makes you feel like you travelled across the world for the night to enjoy Italy at it's best. Thank you. Highly recommend

Delicious everything and the service was great too. The fèta, sundried tomato spinach stuffed pork was so yummy and tender. The crab pasta was delicious too. We were fans of the garlic bread too. Thank you.
