The guy serving me was very helpful. However go your online research. Many of the popular quality brands sell via Amazon or direct nowadays. The shop in Sydney CBD was easy to get to. Just don’t buy anything large. Order it online.

The girl with bad dye hair was quite rude and frankly disrespectful. When I asked for an item she said, “we don’t have everything online.” And instead of asking what I was doing and she dismissed me saying she can look at other stores. I asked where the framing section was and there was PLENTY of alternatives to what I was looking for.Really disappointing. When she did tell me about the other store available she made it like I bothered her to find the information.

Cool little shop right in the hub of the city. While it hasn’t got the pigmented ink from Art spectrum I was looking for, there are good quality alternatives available.

Decent range of products in store. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Outstanding art supply store, with an eye-popping range of colour and texture in every imaginable hue. I was so impressed that they not only had gold powder in a variety of shades, but the sales assistant knew exactly where to direct me, and offered practical advice, as well. My transaction was completed by Chris, who was brilliantly friendly and charming. I highly recommend this branch of Eckersley's.

Visited this location with my partner and straight away it was clear they felt he was out of place - they asked us if we needed help an excessive amount and did so with a judgemental tone and face. This is very disappointing to me especially considering he wasn’t anything wrong or suspicious, he was simply not their typical clientele. We are aware there may be a store policy to greet each guest, but this was clearly pointed and done more than once by the same staff member. Please consider addressing this with your staff, or perhaps conducting some diversity and sensitivity training so that people of all walks of life can feel comfortable in your store.

Great shop with big range of products and helpful friendly staff.

“Shopping is supposed to be fun” but what I experienced today at this shop was very disappointing.When I said at the reception ‘can I pay by my card?’, the girl said “Go for it”. I was not happy already how she had spoken to me as soon as I came inside the shop so when I heard how off-handedly she was speaking saying ‘yep’ at that time, I knew she was not nice. I’m not a friend, I’m a customer. It was not in a friendly or professional tone so I immediately asked her “Go for it?” She replied “Yep”. I asked her “do you normally speak to customers like that?” She replied without any hesitation “Yep” again. I was quite surprised to hear that she replied with no embarrassment or questioning herself why she was being asked. I couldn’t help myself to say to her “That’s not friendly either” and I saw her big “SMIRKING”. At this point I realised that I was dealing with something beyond my capacity to understand so all I wanted to do was getting out of the shop ASAP and saying to myself “I never want to come back here again”. Just before getting out of there, another (older) male shop assistant (I hoped he was a shop manager and willing to listen) was standing near the door so I said to him “that girl is not nice” and I received another his big “SMIRKING” so that confirmed me there is no good customer relationship training provided here or some other reason they behave like that. I have avoided to come and shop here for a while due to my previous not so good experiences but I tried and failed again today. I thought shops were trying to encourage people back into stores after 2 years of Covid on-line sales, perhaps I was wrong?
