Ocean World at CairnsVisited on 13/7/2022I expect this to be a market with several stalls selling seafood. It is rather a disappointment for the variety and price. Could this be a post COVID syndrome?I cannot comment on the fish and chips, because I have not tried it.

Bought some garlic prawns for dinner brought them home and cooked them and proceeded to have extreme food poisoning for the next 24 hours. Do not buy any food from these people all they sell is old off seafood!

Hit and miss! I remember this place being much better for takeaway in the past. Ordered the Mack and chips for $20. The fish was ok (had much better), the chips were soggy and drowning in chicken salt. The best part was the Greek salad which was fresh. The worst part was having to wait outside for 20 minutes for my order, and being eaten alive by midges. Still scratching!!!

Was looking forward to some fresh seafood for a quick lunch.We tried this place and got the Captains Basket, after there were no fresh seafood pack options (and only frozen seafood on display).Unfortunately, it was very disappointing, nothing tasted fresh, even the chips. Bland prawn cutlets and fish bites. The calamari rings were average. Everything tasted coated in old oil.Not sure how they have 4.2 stars.They did seem to have some good frozen options, good to grab and take home if you have time.

Excellent value and big portions! Two of us ate very well for under $15, which was for a small chips and 10 tiger prawns. Delicious.

The food here is exemplary, however the service is even better! Lots of friendly & capable staff; when buying a KG of prawns the lady even honoured the slightly incorrect price sign although I wasn’t really concerned about it; the Aussie red spot prawns were beautiful, but I think they’re greatest product is the Curry Scallop pies; just get in early, we got them right out of the oven at lunchtime after missing out the evening before! What a great shop!

They have a lot of kinds of seafoods!!! And their open hours until late, it’s really nice!We bought prawns, oysters and frozen scallops, prawns were good, however, oysters were frozen and my friend said it was not fresh.

Oh my gosh. There is specific seafood that they have in stock some times that makes my mouth water every time. Luckily there is always some there.The staff are always super friendly and informative about when the next batch of my favourite delicacy will arrive.
