Very poor company to deal with. The door is just over 12 months old, installed in a brand new house and the screws pulled out of the concrete. When I reported it they were only interested in trying to get out of the repair, told me to contact the builder and they only have 12 months installation warranty. When I told them it was because plastic screws were used rather than proper concrete dyna-bolts, they didn't seem to care. Only after I requested to speak with a manager did they send someone out, who was a contractor. The contractor diagnosed it as a faulty motor (later turned out to be wrong). When I followed them up, which was just before Christmas, they said it is with engineering and we will get back to you." Well its 16 January and still no response. Why it needs engineering I have no idea. I suspect they are just stalling me. So I decided to get an independent view on this door (another company) and they said the design was all wrong

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.Very poor customer service have left messages for the Manager with no response. Ordered the door 2 months ago 30/7/2020 and this is what I got (refer to the photos). Originally the door came out to be fitted 1 month after I paid for it.2 men came out with the door on their work vehicle, looked at the opening and said that the door would not fit They didn't take it off the vehicle and try to fit it.So they took it back and in 2 weeks’ time this door arrived .I was told they would remake the door .This has taken more than 2 weeks. I contacted the head person of production, who in my opinion really couldn't give a stuff by her attitude. She begrudgingly offered an apology saying, it really wasn't her place to do so.Great customer service (not) No one seems to care for the customer at Steel-ine nor how the final product fits. Obviously they can't get measurements correct. It has been the worst experience I have had...a simple garage door. The only good thing I can say about this Company is their installer He was great so much different to the staff at Steel line.had to give 1 star to post it

APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE! The Darra Office needs to really consider employing staff who can answer the phone with courtesy and respect and have technicians who know what they’re doing!The lady who answers the phone, Nicola (?) is the rudest person I’ve ever encountered with. She should not be in customer service. Her mannerisms and abrupt attitude is disgraceful and it makes me feel upset after just dealing with her.Over a period of 7 months, 3 visits, the garage door still makes such loud screeching noises that it’s embarrassing to hear when you’re in a complex. After the second visit, they’ve decided that it’s the motor that’s causing the problem. After 5 months and no follow up calls from them, I had to call them and deal with that lady to find out what is going on! On the third visit, one guy sat in the van for half an hour, waiting for the other technician to turn up. Within minutes, he informed that it’s not the motor and wondered what the actual problem was!!! After lots of banging, he said that it’s a little better but if it gets worse, give us a call and we’ll come back to have another look at it. Seriously????FYI - The garage door was installed in July 2022 by the previous owner and it’s still under warranty.

Woeful Service and AttitudeWe paid Steel Line to come out and fit a new motor and lock to an existing garage door. Tech who came out seemed to resent being there and grumbled about how the unit he was removing was better than the one being installed.Two months after the installation, the electrical lock cable (stuck to the wall with 3m sticky pads) came away and wrapped itself around the spring bar, pulling the rail to one side and jamming the door halfway down. We eventually had to get four people to disconnect the wire cables and lower the double garage door by hand.My office asked them to come out and fix this and copped a load of attitude from the service department. Eventually got an appointment for Thursday. Told them we did not want the same person who did the install. Instead, no one turned up. I rang them and after seven calls we got through and copped the same attitude from the same woman. She should NOT be in customer service. No one cares that you were off work yesterday. Then tells me that they are sending the same installer out and that they cannot tell that it's their fault. Her attitude was so bad I had to hang up.After reading the rest of the Google Reviews I can see that I am not the only person to put up with the attitude" from the same person."

WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH! please do yourself a favour and read the reviews and go to literally any other company you can find. The lady who answers the phones is one of the most useless and rudest people I have come across! Have been waiting over 5 months for my garage door to be finished! Also Still waiting…. I’ve lost track of the amount of times I’ve called and gotten zero information out of them. Over 5 times now have the install crew done a no show. Hoping after leaving this review someone from head office will finally get back to me and give me some answers!

Unfortunately my experience with Steel-line was not a positive one. While the initial sales appointments were great, it was steeply down hill from there. Our sales agent let me know we were to upgrade certain areas of the internal framing in prep for install, which we completed. On the day of install as the spring system was attempted to be installed, the entire system exploded off the wall under the spring tension leaving huge holes and gouges through our new garage walls and ceiling. It was extremely lucky the installers were not seriously injured. The install team then stated we should have upgraded another area that was not previously mentioned. We raised this with our sales rep and he did not agree as this framing 'upgrade' had not been required in the past on other jobs. It then became a finger pointing game between the sales and install staff. I then attempted to contact the manager re the situation and damage (as no one from Steel-line had called me after 2-3 days) only to be informed he was very busy" and it was unclear when he could return the call. I have no doubt he was a busy man but this should not negate the situation we were left in. The situation being we had heavy garage panels in place with no way of opening/lifting them making our garage unusable and also significant damage to our new garage. I attempted to call the manager in their Darra office several times over several days and was never able to reach him nor did he return any calls. He eventually sent a text early one morning with an update re returning to finish the install but then would not return any texts/calls or questions re the damage bill. We were left to fix the damage at our own expense and to date the office has not responded to any requests re a fair and reasonable refund (as the door was paid in full prior to install as per their policy). From the outside looking in and also hearing the staff's stories

Garage door is 12.5 months old and has ripped out of the concrete slab, and is inoperable with cars stuck in garage. Have called Slim Line who did the install, sent photos and videos and was told, no longer in warranty, the builder will need to fix it, they don’t even know what to fix if they were to come out, the door needs to be serviced (never received any advice or correspondence on this) and that they can’t get anyone out for over a month (which is probably fair enough over the Christmas break).They were completely dismissive that it could possibly be anything to do with them, and in no possible way could their install be defective, and had zero interest in wanting to know. I asked them to book in anyway, and i was told the builder will need to fix it.I am surprised this terrible approach to customer service still exists.

1. Requested to pay outstanding amount the day before install, I wish I didn't, nobody arrived the next day after multiple phonecalls delaying the start time and then pushed the visit into the next week.2. Was quoted for a comprehensive install but the headboards supplied were not the correct length as demonstrated in the photos. Measure once cut twice, as you can see.3. Overall the supply, fit and finish is well below standard, although I now have a well ventilated garage due to all the gaps.The install occured in August and we are now into October with no follow up.I implore you to take your money elsewhere.

Had an SD800 Door Opener installed and we were given 2 remotes. All was fine for a while. Remote stopped after about 12 months Change the battery, remote doesn't work, can't be reprogrammed. They replace the remote. Same thing happens. This time they want to charge over $200 to replace a remote that can't be reprogrammed. Two remotes within 18 months. Not paying them to continually provide me with remotes that only work for the life of a $7 battery. 1 Star is being generous.
