St Francis Winery

Stayed for a few days. Place is very old and tired, rooms need attention. Maintenance is sorely missing. We were annoyed by local teens knocking on doors and windows which scared the wife.On the other hand the restaurant food was good and the rooms were serviced and clean.With a bit of TLC Could be nice

The experience at the St Francis Winery was so very disappointing considering the outlay for the room. Where do I start? Uncomfortable, outdated, old, very poor value.The bed was an absolute shocker - soft, no support, we fell into the middle of the mattress and found it difficult to roll over or get out of and even into bed. Looking at the mattress without the bedding, the edge was collapsing on itself. The pillows we very thin ..... very thin, very poor - no support for my neck.The kitchenette" was mid 60s and not functional

Stayed 3 nights. Room clean & comfortable. Had 1 dinner in Walters, food & service good. A lot of leaf litter that hadn't been picked up. Will stay again.

Very disappointed with our lunch today. We arrived at the restaurant at 11.55 and were the only people there at that stage. The waitress informed us that they Roast of the day and Risotto dish was already sold out!. We ordered soup of the day which was pumpkin. It was the colour of pumpkin soup, but tasted like warm water. Very disappointed.Also the acoustics are really poor. We could not hear each other speak, over the sound of other patrons talking.Very disappointed as we were looking forward to the first visit after the renovations.Certainly wouldn't recommend.Na

Great value for money . Spacious room with huge bed and very clean . A lil tired otherwise would have been a 5. Staff very nice and meals in the restaurant were both tasty and hot . Short Walking distance to many facilities as well - would stay again

Stayed there over the long weekend. The rooms were fine, a bit outdated but fine. Restaurant also fine, nothing to brag about. We had several rooms as our family was all there together. On the first day of being there we had just left and were out when I received a call from my sister (staying a few doors down) letting me know that the couch that was in my room was being removed and on the grass in front of the room, all my stuff that was on the couch had been moved and the door was wide open. I was concerned as to why this was happening as no one had mentioned anything to us. We had all of our belongings on the couch, our daughters clothes, our clothes, everything… and they had moved it all to get the couch out. Apparently they needed the sofa for another room and I was supposed to be advised this was happening, clearly I wasn’t. When I called to ask why someone was removing the couch and in the process touching all our stuff the lady on the phone was short and unhelpful. Didn’t offer any apology or explanation, just said “housekeeping should’ve told you, we needed it in another room”. For this reason, we wont ever return. The lack of customer service was not great and it honestly put a sour note on our weekend away.

Looked promising and nice looking venue at first glance but food very ordinary and unimaginative. No promised potato gratin and broccolini with steak and no pickled bean sprouts and cucumber ribbons with vegetarian meal or crispy squid. Most meals served with very basic salad garnish and fries. Thai green curry looked dry. Very disappointing.

Meal was terrible. Ordered the porterhouse steak medium rare, steak was very much well done. Secondly menu says served with potato gratin and steamed broccoli, it came with chips & salad. I barely ate much of it yet waitress collected meals and didn't say a word...good staff should recognise something is amiss if the meal wasn't touched. I will not be coming back.

Stayed here on a stop over through Adelaide heading over east. Beds are large decent amount of parking and some of the rooms have spas in them, area is quiet and peaceful, think there is pool but I didn't notice. Overall good stay.
