Berkelouw Book Barn

Beautiful new and used book shop with attached restaurant on a lovely winery estate. Coffee was takeaway only when I visited which may be because they were prepping for lunch service and are usually fully booked.

Such a beautiful vineyard, book barn, cellar aswell as a cafe and restaurant! Loved this space

Not what I was looking for. This is quite an upmarket establishment both a bookstore and a winery, great for special occasions but too expensive and formal for a road trip stop...better to trundle a little down the road to the cafes in Berrima village.

Beautiful place, clean and well maintained. Hope to come back for food next time!

Beautiful interiors where you can select a book to read while eating or drinking. We tried their desserts and all were interesting, albeit a bit expensive. There’s also an actual book shop you can purchase from which has a good selection of fiction and non-fiction books. Best to have a reservation as they really get packed on weekends.

Lovely building and art, however strange service. We arrived at 9:30 to browse the books and have a coffee. We bought a book and wanted to have a quick coffee inside with our elderly mother. There were no visitors and all tables empty and yet were told we would need to have it outside. It wasn’t booked out and no other guests in sight. It was cold and on the verge of rain so we left.

The decor and service was great!We sat inside close to the old world fire with its wonderful sandstone hearth, fairy lights and lovely forest like ceiling decorationsFood was good, not amazeballs but good and the wine lovely

I recently attended Berkelouw near Bowral and when we arrived at the main entrance we advised the staff member that we just wanted a table for coffee for 2. She pointed out a table. Then a different staff member came and told us the lunch special and we said we were just having coffee. The staff member got quite short with us and said the tables are only reserved for lunch. She reluctantly let us stay. We were finished in about 20 minutes and then browsed the books, spending more money. There were plenty of other free tables while we were having our drinks. Very disappointing service and attitude from staff.Otherwise great book shop. Perhaps get your lunch or drinks in Berrima or Bowral which are close by and the service is friendlier.
