Beautiful setting and interior. Attentive service. The meals were delicious. We had the three courses dinner $115, a serve of roasted potatoes $12 and cocktails $25 each. A great night.

Since we stayed at the hydro majestic hotel, we got to enjoy the complementary 3 course dinner as part of their package. Everything was decently done, no big surprises with the food, nothing really memorable, atmosphere was average. However staff was incredibly professional and attentive.

A time capsule into the glam of the Edwardian Era.You can’t really talk about the experience of The Wintergaden without first talking about the Hydro Majestic. If you’re like us and love to experience the glamours lifestyle of a century ago then this has to be on your must-do list while visiting Sydney. Only an hour and a half drive from Sydney’s city centre this iconic hotel is well known to many of the locals, though when asked it seems that none of them have visited it in years! No idea why as the moment we arrived into the building we couldn’t put our phone cameras down. The place has been extremely well upkept, and you truly do feel like you’ve stepped back in time to a bygone era of luxury. There are many function rooms, all with their own theme, but all kept in the context of its history from its chinoiserie lounge to its African colonial painting. You get a feel of what life must have been like for the rich and famous of the era.The Hydro Majestic was founded as a health retreat, and its picturesque location is obviously its main selling point. The view of the Blue Mountains from there is nothing short of spectacular. So, if you’re not taking selfies of yourself inside the Hydro Majestic, you’re outside showing off yourself within the beauty of its natural surroundings. Now, to the entire reason we chose to go there in the first place: its high tea at The Wintergarden. We had some spectacular high tea experiences around the world, some of which I’ve reviewed here in the past, so I’m comparing to high tea at some of the best known places internationally and I can say without any doubt that this served the best high tea of them all, and ironically it’s probably because of their simplicity. Their high tea reminds me of the high tea I had as a kid: tasty sandwiches with fresh bread, more savories than desserts, nothing fancy but everything yummy and satisfying…with, of course, fantastic scones! Service was excellent. I spoke to a couple of the waiters and found out they came from some internationally well known 5 star hotels, so their service training is top notch. How they ended up working in a hotel in the Blue Mountains I unfortunately didn’t get the chance to find out, but I’m definitely going back there next time I’m in Sydney where I hope to get to the bottom of this mystery.

We have stopped by for high tea a few times now and have always enjoyed it.The staff are all friendly and efficient and the location is excellent. This time I decided to try the eastern high tea rather than the usual but it's not what I thought. I had to try it to find out but will just have the regular high tea in future. It wasn't for me.The only small problem is that they need more tea varieties. There are all the usual green teas, Earl Grey, English Breakfast etc but if you just want a plain China Black, or something similar, then they don't have it. English Breakfast was the closest.

An amazing venue for high tea with a view. The staff were professional and helpful. Our request for vegetarian options was no problem and everything was delicious. The attention to detail was a stand out. The interior was refurbished to 1920's splendour and the live piano music really matched the mood. We booked ahead and had a table next to one of the huge windows, but all tables could see the amazing views of the blue mountains and valleys. It's not a cheap experience but definitely worth it. Highly recommended.

Staff were very friendly and professional. The high tea was very good, they asked if there were any dietary requirements and the food comes out on a three tier tower. The hydro majestic hotel is also a very beautiful building. The entrance to the Wintergarden Restaurant is in the back of the casino and has views overlooking the mountains.

This really is a step back in time and aptly named “majestic” experience. We opted for the “eastern” high tea for something a bit different and were rewarded with a sumptuous mix of flavours and gastronomic experiences. We did two high teas in the Blue Mountains and this was the best by far. The pianist playing in the background was just sublime and just added to the whole atmosphere.

Gorgeous views through the large panoramic windows.Dark Art Deco interior entrance.Elegant sophisticated decor in the dining room. Needs to be better cleaned, found dead bugs and cobwebs.Service was attentive and friendly. Though needs more experience with carrying the high tea towers. They were helpful to patrons who had asked to be moved to better tables. Now the food!1 Wintergarden and 1 Eastern high tea. Delicate and pretty. The serving in total is filling.Enjoyed the desserts and tasted delicious. Memorable. Some of the savoury though was a little soggy and some a little dry. The wrapped beef was to big. Reducing the size and make it 2 would be better. Mostly tasted really good.Highly recommended. No actual parking near the entrance.Parking located nearby the cafe.Hotel parking right of the entry.Entry to the restaurant is the casino doors.

The Hydro Majestic’s High Tea in the Wintergarden restaurant is the one of the best high tea I’ve experienced, and I’ve been to quite a few including The Tea Room in the QVB and the Langham. Most high tea experiences do not cater for dietary requirements like dairy-free, often you get stuck with fruit or bland alternatives while you admire others with platters filled with beautiful cakes and pastries. But not the Wintergarden, they took the time to create dairy-free cakes and wraps. They even check whether I was allergic to seafood when then put down my platter. Everything was delicious, even others on the table envied the dishes I was served. The service was impeccable and an incredible view of Megalong Valley. This is the best dairy-free high tea I’ve ever had. You won’t need to worry if you forget your lactase tablets. I highly recommend the Wintergarden’s high tea experience and have told quite a few people already. Well done! You’ve got yourself a fan!
