We were recommended by another fabric store in the area that suggested they may have bridal laces that we were after for a custom wedding gown - although hopeful that Textile & Lace could assist this was nothing shy of a terrible experience. After standing at the entrance of the store for at least 10 minutes waiting for the lady to assist us, without any acknowledgment during her phone call - she proceeded to ask for design images and inspirational pictures regardless of us asking for specific fabrics and items. We were repatedly told that she had nothing for us & could assit despite the many rails of lace & embellished items on display. Understandably they do not sell to the public, but given we were looking for 40+ meters of fabric and had an ABN - there should have been no problem. Once we found something we were interested in we received no assistance but were rather convinced other wise on our decisions - being told items on display were discontinue, only available in 3 months, had minimum orders, couldn't be beaded until October etc etc - all which were no issue for us. It was clear she had no intention to assist or sell to us but rather place judgement. Sad, considering the budget we had to spend in the store of 9000 + $. We left offended and with absolutely NO intentions of returning, nor recommending anyone to the store which is unfortunate as there are lovely items on display - should the assistant be willing to sell them to you, which may be mood dependent. I usually don't bother with negative reviews however I hope in posting this that the staff may be trained better or alternatively realize the effects that there attitude has on sales. We will definitely be taking our immediate and future business elsewhere!!!

I was confounded to read the last review.I have been dealing with Textiles and Lace for over thirty years and the team are nothing but helpful , knowledgeable and have the most exquisite fabrics in all of Australia.This is why the major designers buy their fabrics throughout the country.Remember this is a wholesale business where the buyer should know their stuff it sounds like you were looking for a retail experience and are angry you didn’t get it.You should have made an appointment to view the range , that way ,time could have been allocated to you. Not their fault . Again, this is not a retail shop where walk ins are the norm.Many wholesalers will only let you buy from them if your business is in the industry that relates to them not just any ABN can get you everything wholesale.There are two sides to every story !
