Oakleigh Grammar: Melbourne Private School

The school and community have become an extension of our family home environment due to it's open, down to earth, and nurturing character. My child is excited to go to school every morning because she feels safe in such an environment and stimulated by the curriculum. For this reason i am pleased because my child hasn't seperated school from family nurture.

We enrolled our daughter in the Arrowsmith Program run by Oakleigh Grammar for grade 3 as she was struggling in mainstream school. It was the best thing we could have done. After 3 years in the program, she is thriving in mainstream school and is off to High School next year.

Our family only attended primary and it was sad experience. The kids constantly struggled to fit into closed circle of kids of dominantly greek origins that most seemed to be related. Hard to come to school and listen about birthdays that you were not invited to ...The school would kind o support childs desire for academic excellence but again the environment would make them feel like nerds ...And than comes Leader in me programe - where bullying is swept under building resiliance.They are now enjoying their senior school somewhere else.

We had a terrible experience at this school, and I know we are not alone. The environment is not at all supportive of the Arrowsmith students, the school is run by people who have no interest in student wellbeing. My son became incredibly depressed and anxious while attending there, and has since been diagnosed with PTSD which he is being treated for, due to a series of incidents that occurred there over a 12 month period.

The biggest regret of my family. Paying $11,000 fees for them to allow other kids to teach yours, about “bad and addictive” habits. It’s not about the $$, I should have never enrol my kid to this school.

Great school. My child did the Arrowsmith program and anybody who is thinking about it really needs to sit down with those that know at this school and go through all the benefits. Totally worth every cent and more. To watch them go in leaps and bounds when before they were sluggish is something to see.At a dinner with all the parents who had children doing the Arrowsmith program there was not one parent who didn't think it was exactly what their child needed. Bullying is a big problem in this school. My child and my friend's child were bullied,. One of the staff members told me that it is because my child didn't fit in (I am not sure what she meant exactly.) I paid $10000 school fees for that year, but we didn't seem to get any benefit out of it. We are glad that our child has left this school. We believe that children's development is very important if the children are in a safe and happy environment, but bullying is a big problem in this school and we had a terrible time at this school.

We have been at Oakleigh Grammar since our son was in 3 year old ELC, this year being our 10th year at the school. We have both our kids there now and are very happy with the school and the progress our children are making, not only academically but also socially and as people and having a strong Orthodox Christian ethos along with a 21st century view of education makes this a great school for us. Would highly recommend you consider Oakleigh Grammar.

My daughters commenced schooling with Oakleigh Grammar (OG) from January 2019 as International Student. It was their first exposure to the schooling in international environment. Both the daughters got passionately connected with all the teachers and staffs of the OG. It was difficult to transfer them to elsewhere because of their mental attachment. I take this opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding support and guidance of all the teachers and staffs of the highly reputed School. I am very grateful for the knowledge imparted to my daughters during their stay in this esteemed school. The experience in OG will remain as a remarkable milestone in their life. I am truly indebted to OG for the contributions to my daughter’s upbringing and grooming. I wish OG to reach to the pinnacle of glory with all the successes.
