Good place to stop over night in vans or campers that is very close to Lake St Clair and the National Park. FREE just have a meal or drink in the hotel. May also do some rooms. Public amenities across the road. Owned by a lovely couple.

Awesome spot!! Free camping outside, and the parmies are 10/10 good size, good cheese to sauce to meat ratio. Bravo will come back one day!

Beautiful ’Wilderness’ Hotel. The staff were lovely & accommodating. We enjoyed our stay but would advise a few things to expect when visiting.Prices are higher than some places, they are in a remote and costs are accordingly. It is a more remote area so if you need anything specific, be prepared. The curry was beautiful, one vegan and one gluten free guest and they were very accommodating. They provided a continental breakfast which was a nice touch and the rooms were very warm.

Lovely old hotel, approx 5 kms to St Clair. Great food and lovely hosts and staff. We had a shared bathroom literally across the hall. Room small but nice. Bed great. Continental breakfast included. Accommodation at a good price. Not many cheap dinner options, but food tasty and nicely presented. Highly recommended!

Had one of the best cooked meals in Tassie. Delicious Sri Lankan curry and crusty salmon cooked rare, so moist and flavoursome, as were the vegetables. Reasonable priced meal in informal setting. Unusual dining area with high beamed wooden rafters and ceiling and an enormous log fire . Close to Lake St Clair. Well done chef Trevine and bar staff.

Came here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised! Started off with a bang with a great garlic bread cooked perfectly. Then, for mains, we had the chicken parmigiana and roast beef, both knock-out meals.Yes, the price is slightly higher than what you'd pay in the cities, but it is definitely worth it!It's a shame they didn't have any lamb. Otherwise, I would have ordered the lamb curry.

I decided to try out this place for lunch. I joined the queue to order food but when I got to the front I was asked if I was 'on the bus?' I wasn't so I had to wait for people who were 'on the bus' to be served. After that I asked if they could do a vegan version of their vegetarian burger. They asked me what vegan means. I had the feeling that wasn't a good sign. I was told by the man serving me that he'd have to check with the chef. Then he decided that he was too busy to check with the chef and that I should ask the other guy at the counter. Who served other people for a few minutes until I left.I won't be coming back.

We were so excited to stop here. Location fantastic. We were so looking forward to a lovely meal and experience. Curry came with beef croquet. Croquet Sent back twice cold. Only to be told it would be rectified but never received. Offered a refund only to receive a $10 note. Staff not friendly at all. No fire or duke box going in bar area will pool table. No atmosphere at all. Very disappointing.

I’ve been late in saying thanks to this amazing place for 5 years, but of course it’s better late than never (and I’ll never forget it). We came for a gorgeous day hike shortly after our first child was born...he might have been a few weeks or months old, I can’t remember, those early days are a blur. Anyway, grumpy by the end of it all, bub was making any attempts at eating our own meal utterly miserable - that is, if it wasn’t for the incredible kindness and hospitality of the staff who scooped him up and walked around to help settle him while my husband and I shared a cherished reprieve and actually enjoyed a memorably delicious and grateful dinner. Thank you Derwent Bridge Wilderness Hotel!!

We stayed one night in Derwent Bridge and went to the Derwent Bridge Hotel for dinner. We were very impressed when we walked in, what a beautiful hotel, with a huge fireplace with fire burning (it was a cold evening), and so much character.Wow, our meals were awesome, the crispy pork belly was the best I've had in a long time, so tender and juicy and the crackling, omg.My sister had the vegetable curry, which was also very delicious and served with rice and roti bread. The staff were friendly and very efficient.I highly recommend you stop in for a meal, or even just a drink at this lovely hotel.
