The Loca-Vore
We were walking by as Stirling is one of our favourite suburbs to visit on a weekend. We spotted this lovely wine bar on our way back. Fortunately, we were lucky to get a spot today without a booking (as it was a little early in the evening) and thoroughly enjoyed the amazing food and hospitality. Thank you for a lovely time!

Stopped in late, close to closing time and they still generously managed to fit us in and got us a meal. Service was friendly and accommodating, the food was fresh and tasty. Menu looked good though it was limited for us as we were the late arrivals. Well worth checking out.

First time in The Loca-Vore and YOU have to go! It’s a cozy little spot with amazing food and pet friendly!. I recommend to try the arancini entree. The food was rich in flavour and the presentation was excellent. The service we received was so amazing. We were outside with our dog and they provided blankets to us. Even my dog received treats! We definitely will be back. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience.

Three Hats for The Locavore? While living in the culinary corridor of Stirling-Aldgate-Bridgewater-Uraidla, I had somehow missed booking a meal at The Locavore over the past four years.  Maybe it was the raised windows which makes the inside difficult to discern. Or maybe it was the menu, which looked delicious but limited. Whatever the reason, when I needed to make a reservation for a dinner with a few friends mid-week last month, The Locavore had availability so I booked. What followed was one wonderful surprise after another. From the street, the high ceilings make the restaurant look grand, but walking into the space itself felt cozy and comfortable. Five or six tables were sprinkled around the room, and the intimacy along with the roaring fire made me feel as if I had walked into a chef's own home. That warmth continued all night. Service was friendly, helpful, and unpretentious. The other diners were all clearly there for a special evening and the mood was cheerful. The food was perfect - beautifully cooked. Even the burger received rave reviews. After a bottle of wine and dessert, we rolled out of the restaurant wondering exactly where we had been transported to that evening and how in the world we hadn't know about The Locavore's magic before. There are finer restaurants in the Hills. And there are more expensive fit-outs, bigger wine lists, and grander views. But if they handed out Hats to places that welcome you like family and feed you as if the chef is cooking his or her favourite meal just for you, The Locavore would have three. On balance, this is the best restaurant in the Adelaide Hills.

The Loca-Vore
The Loca Vore Restaurant & Bar on Mount Baker Road, Stirling was visited for lunch, on a high end of Culinary Food Eatery. Was impressed for the local SA dine in venue at the first sight. The Restaurant looked good and clean. Decor looked classy. Service from the first sight was smiling and welcoming. Leading to upstairs and straight away offered with a chilled cold house still water. We were explained about the entrees from the board, professionally done with an applause. Ordered 3 entrees with a bottle of Prosecco Sparkling wine. Grilled Prawns in Paprika & Olive oil, Marinated Squid with Aioli and Grilled Halloumi with Tomato Salsa. Favour was amazing. Well seasoning. All dishes are well defined and favoured individually. All usage of Ingredients are chosen perfectly. But when main meals came, the burgers were great and the Homemade Chunky chips were sensational. The Beef Pattie was cooked perfectly medium except the homemade Tomato sauce was a bit too sweet. With the Grilled Baramumdi, the color of the fish was spot on designed with flare! Amaging Chef with good Culinary art knowledge. However, very disappointed with the bok Choy served with this dish. It still had sand in it. Very griddy bite. It actually destroyed the feeling of my appetite. At the same time, the shelves and deck for displace of the flower pots were filled with dust and stain Marks. Sitting upstairs on the Mezzanine level for an upper class price Restaurant, definitely dragged the mood down. Remember, upper class restaurant charges upper price must provide upper service and quality. Anyway, we were planning at the beginning to stay for coffee and desserts. Mind changed. Hope one day, I will be returned to see thing change for better. 100% in heart advising, detailing makes success!

The Loca-Vore
I’d give no stars if it were an option. Came in this afternoon for a late takeaway coffee as most other cafes were closed. Upon entering it was uncomfortable with who seemed like the owners and/or staff sitting at the bar. Felt like we were interrupting something and no one was particularly friendly. We ordered our 2 small coffees with lactose free milk. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I read $13 for 2 small coffees! Honestly ridiculous. The coffees were far too hot to drink for some time and we well ventured off because having a good sip. When our coffees were no longer scorching we finally were able to begin to drink, though they tasted AWFUL. The foam felt like phlegm in my mouth, as soon as I opened the lid to scrape out the foam we noticed each coffee was curdled and foul. The entire top of our coffees were full of off curd! The woman who served us would have seen this whilst pouring, so obviously she didn’t care. I’m appalled and disgusted!

Deeelicious food. Gnocchi was to die for. Great service as well. Pretty pricey though, so probably won't be back. But all mains, sides and desserts were fantastic
