Dan Nixon

Dan is incredibly passionate about story and has a real gift for inspiring enthusiasm in others. He's a dedicated writer, always with exciting projects on the go, and he is wildly talented at teaching what he knows and bringing the best out of others. Working with him at Melbourne Young Writers' Studio and Pirate Size Productions has been the most rewarding experience of my career. Dan is without a doubt the best teacher of story going around and a wonderful person to know!

Dan is a fantastic writer and producer who is a pleasure to work with. He's passionate about what he does, and has a strong creative vision. Dan is one of the most exciting young talents in animation and kids media, and I can't recommend him enough.

My experiences with Dan were largely through RMIT where I was a student of the Advanced Diploma of Professional Screenwriting. I was all set to finish up in 2019, until I found out that Dan would be teaching Writing For Kids TV in 2020, which he had fought to have reinstated. After a long conversation with Dan, I decided to take on one more year to complete his class.I can honestly say that this is one of the best decisions I've ever made. Even with the handicap of COVID and online learning Dan's class was engaging, fun and an absolute wealth of knowledge and information that I use to this day. My love for children's television and want to make it the focal point of my career grew even more after taking this class. It left me feeling truly equipped for the industry and my tests to come as a writer. I cannot recommend Dan as a teacher, writer or creative enough.
