The Grand Bar Restaurant Functions

Shaun, Andrea and staff did a wonderful job of my birthday party lunch. The food was really good, service excellent, prices very reasonable and the little extras appreciated. Great venue.

We had our Christmas Staff party at the Grand Bar Restaurant on Saturday night, and the feedback from all 57 guests in our group was most complimentary. Best night ever, food was excellent, staff were very helpful, pleasant and obliging., the variety of food and drinks were wonderful.Sean & the team were incredible, they couldn't have done anything better, we would highly recommend The Grand for anybody looking for a wonderful night out. We will definitely be back.

I do not to hesitate for one moment to recommend this place. Fantastic meals and prices. The customer service is great, very easy to get assistance if needed and there is no fuss

So frustrated! Tried calling mid last week (during listed business hours) to only ever receive an answering machine. Left a message but never received a call back. Noticed on the Facebook page that you take bookings online via The Fork. Proceed to book online on Friday (for today - the following Wednesday) after a couple of days of no return phone call.Received an email confirmation that day and a reminder email yesterday.This morning I have received an email saying that you can't honor my booking.I have a friend coming in from over an hour away who really wanted to visit your restaurant (as do I), and now we are left scrambling to make alternative arrangements.Very poor communication.

Have just had a lovely meal here today. Basic but good. The building is just beautiful. The service was very good, staff were very friendly and pleasant, will definitely return again..

Beautiful building built in 1860s but modern as you walk in. Our dinner was in the boardroom, had a look in the bar and ballroom which were both modern and fresh.Staff were super friendly. Had a chat with the owner, great bloke.We had a lovely 2019 Shiraz from Bookend with our dinner. I enjoyed the Porterhouse steak cooked medium, would have preferred it to be a little more tender. My wife had the crumbed lamb cutlets which she absolutely loved. We had sticky date pudding for dessert which was just amazing. Daughter enjoyed her fish & chips and snakes alive for her dessert.

Absolutely amazing experience from The Grand, from the moment we viewed the venue go the entire process of organising our event we were met with nothing but professional amazing customer service. If you need a venue for a function in ballarat I would 10/10 recommend. Amazing venue, fantastic location such professional service, just a wonderful experience. Thank you to the amazing staff at the grand for making our party amazing!

Best Restaurant in Ballarat. Awesome, wonderful friendly staff. Sean is a wonderful chef who serves up scrumptious meals. I find it so hard to decide what to order. Nothing is too much trouble for him if you what something different than what is part of the meal on the menu. The disabled entrance at the back is great for people who dislike going up the steps at the entrance. Love going there to eat.

Celebrated my 70th birthday with 40 guests for lunch. We were put in the function room with beautifully set up tables and great service. We all ordered off the menu and the meals were fantastic and reasonably priced. Its a very elegant and lovely venue with old world charm. Highly recommended.

Crumbed lamb cutlets were delicious but the steak 2 of our table ordered were overcooked and not tender. The wait staff would clear our empty glasses but not ask if we needed another drink as they ran away. The building has been beautifully renovated but with cheap plastic tables and metal chairs there is absolutely no ambience. Such a shame. Would only come back for the lamb cutlets
