The day we came to get some fish and chips here was the day one of the grills broke down. I think anybody in the hospitality industry can be forgiven when equipment malfunctions. But what is almost unforgivable is bad service - especially when the wait is almost an hour long and none of the staff let us know in advance that the equipment was broken.When we got our food, the lady told us that we were lucky to get our food. What? Why should I feel lucky to get my food after an hour's wait instead of getting an apology? What's even worse was that the fish tasted rubbery and the chips stale. Having this place around is an embarrassment to Cottesloe frankly speaking.

Nice fish, well cooked and crispy. Chips aren't great, no double or triple cooking and they may have been thawed before cooking. Lovely outlook onto Cottesloe beach. Reasonable prices for what it is but no bargains to be found. Overall, decent but not outstanding.

Great location. It was busy when I went. Ordered fish & chips, calamari, and a pineapple fritter. Decent feed.

Redefines expensive! Totally average food and this cost $48.00. Lemon wedge gives an indication of the microscopic serve of fish! Fish overcooked and chewy. Chips were edible (but at $7.80) for a handful, possible most expensive I’ve ever bought. Potato cakes $4 each and taste like pre-made stuff. So, really average food with a price tag that is just ridiculous.

This used to be our go to place for fish and chips, when we were up this way. Spanish Mackerel, lovely. We didn’t mind paying a premium price.Not anymore. When we were last there the Spanish Mackerel was a different texture and was tough. When I went to the counter and told the lady that was serving, that the fish was different than we normally had, and was tough, she said ‘it’s new owners’ with a blank look on her face. So we will be going some where else while they run this into the ground.

Ordered mackerel and large chips and a battered sausage and got 2 tiny pieces of fish which definitely weren't mackerel. All up cost was a ridiculous $35.68, whereas at my local, I could have got a full family meal for 4 for another $5. Fish was also dry and hard. To make it worse they stuffed the order up and didn't put the fish in the box so I was forced to go back.

Slow service not busy. Queryed order and told it was correct , but then they realized the error. Fish n chips soggy..calamari not well cooked..disappointing experience with inattentive staff..been going there for years usually good..not sure what I was charged!

I got the seafood combo for 1. In it were 4-5 pieces of fish whichwere pretty good, calamari (also good), prawns (very good) and some lukewarm chips (not so good). Overall not bad but they don't salt the food very well.Also, the big reason why this place is so popular is they're right by the beach where you can get take out, sit by the sand and watch the sunset (priceless).

I’m hesitant to give 1 star reviews but if you’re from the eastern states don’t bother with this place - $40 for 1 piece of fish (hake), minimum chips, 2 (of the worst and most overpriced) potato cakes and 2 cokes. I can only imagine that anyone who rates this place either has never had good fish and chips before and/or has never ventured out of the suburb.1. Soggy batter on the fish (we ate in the park across the road so it should have been fine)2. Cold chips3. No salt or seasoning on the chips even though we were asked which we prefer4. $3 potato cake that isn’t even home made. You’d get a home made fresh potato cake for half that in Melbourne but this tasted like pressed Deb.
