Great place to visit, though very very dusty so for dustmite allergy sufferers it's a bit of a challenge :) Staff very very friendly!

A little overpriced at $10 entry fee.A lot of old relics and antiques inside but not much info on the history. Interesting to look at but I think I expected a little more bang for my buck

$10 per adult, to see inside the rocks and minerals collection, bottle collection , not a lot of information provided, interesting antiques collection. The house made from beer bottles and cement is a good use of local materials at the time ( 1960's)

Good for a look as you check out the area of Lightening Ridge. Apparently made up of some 5000 odd bottles.

Lots of interesting things to see here. Plenty of history of Lighting Ridge and early Australian bush life. Well worth looking at.

Quiet the day we visited but still very interesting. The attendant shared some of the history of the building with us and happy to answer all questions.Beautiful to see the morning sun shining through the bottles. Lots of other artefacts of past times on shelves and hanging from the ceiling. Samples of opals and some to buy too.Off street parking available.

As part of what lightning ridge has to offer to tourists is the bottle house, a house made nearly entirely of empty glass bottles. It was an immensely impressive sight to look at, with the sheer amount of work that would have had to been put into this, and the number of bottles that would have to be saved too. It seemed that a lot of these bottles are also like the same, meaning someone must have had to drink a lot of… something. We entered through the side of the house, where there was a lady in charge of the entry and also had some opal jewellery on display for sale. The entry was about 10 dollars if I recall correctly, and we went through, and it was pretty much like a hoarders house, but arranged in a much neater manner with several items of importance in a glass display. It was cool to see all these things, but I didnt really expect it at all. The front half of the house is filled with a bunch of bits and pieces of items from the past, like there is such a random assortment of things here that I cant simply group them into one word. It was pretty cool, and believe it or not, there were even more empty bottles inside. This is probably the jankiest looking museum ive ever been to, but it was an interesting sight for sure.

The house itself is amazing and worth seeing. The display inside.... you’re not missing much. There’re no labels or instructions or guide who tell you about everything, just a bunch of bottles. Entry is a bit overpriced.
