Sou'West Brewery
Friendly staff, great food and a wide selection of beers. We tried a beer paddle to taste a few different beers. The golden ale was my favourite. Food was great! A wide selection of food and everything we ordered was really tasty. I would highly recommend the macaroni croquettes. They were heavenly. I would definitely come back again with more people to try more of the food!

Situated in Australia's premier surf town, home to worldwide surfwear brands Rip Curl, Quicksilver, Billabong and others, as well as the world-famous World Surfing League event, the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach, there's something appropriate about this brewery being situated at a former headquarters of one of those brands.This is an impressive, warehouse-sized, open, airy facility, with seating for hundreds, pouring seven beers and a cider, all brewed on-site, and with the stainless clearly visible behind the bar. Growler fills - a relatively rare option in Australia - are available, as well as six packs, but the latter option is only available for the pale ale and lager.There's an extensive food menu and there were a number of large groups covering all ages and family demographies enjoying a meal in the early afternoon of my visit. I didn't eat, so the food score is based on the size of the menu.Overall, this is an exceptionally good venue. My only knock is the relative lack of outdoor seating, with only a small, enclosed, outside area available that would make up less than 5 per cent of the available seating space. But if that's my only nitpick then I reckon they're done a pretty good job.

It's on the expensive end but the food is great and the beer is too. The only problem we had with the atmosphere was the noise, not much sound deadening and a large group meant conversation was difficult. There was space elsewhere.Otherwise, a great lunch and would recommend!

A lovely airy establishment. Staff were efficient, but it was not really clear the ordering process.Lovely meals. Everyone enjoyed their choice.The Cobb salad was very delicious, incredibly tasty, really impressed with the replacement of tofu for chicken.The chocolate cake was to die for, melt in the mouth delicious.

Outstanding. Frequent visitors to Torquay, however first visit to SW. From the moment of arriving (first to arrive) we were impressed with all aspects. Service fantastic from entry, to bar, to meals. Special mention to the lady greeting. Fantastic beers, generous tastings also. Food was spot on, kids had the fresh brewers board, much better than your usual nuggets and chips. Our meals excellent, such a contrast to many other coastal/peninsula places - Clean space with character. Well done to the owners and staff - Will be back soon - thank you

Huge brewery in Torquay. One of three breweries in the area, but the only one to open on a Monday. We arrived about 4pm and the place was near empty. Having a 4 year old with us we opted for the area with the play equipment. Great space with different areas. Good beer selection, food was great albeit a tad on the expensive side. Friendly and professional staff. We shall definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Came here with partner and extended family. As we entered, the atmosphere was nice. A little loud though. insulation of some sort would have limited how much i sounded like I was vocally impaired.The reason for the the low review was the food. Oh God it was bad. We ordered a bit of everything. Steaks were undercooked, we think this was more to do with the how they cut the steak uneven. Father in law ordered his medium - rare" looked more blue than anything (photo attached). My special "beef brisket burger" was dry as anything

Over the last 3 or so months we have been checking out breweries, whether we stop in for lunch or just have a drink but we like to check out what each company/business/brewery is doing.We went to yours today and were very impressed. From the presentation, the customer service, the cleanliness, the venue itself with the furnishings, garden, lighting and the food...wow the food was beautiful. We had the fried cauliflower, potato cakes and the cobb salad. All of it was so delicious.We tried to buy the golden ale in a 6 pack/slab because we liked it so much but unfortunately you didn't sell it.We have friends that live in Geelong and we will definitely be back. We had a great time at your venue and keep up the great work.

Big wide open barn style venue. Great for small or large groups.Food tasty and good variety. I especially like the chicken bowl which is delicious. Good vegetarian options too. Great range of beers, wine, cider and other drinks. They should also make a non alcoholic beer too for people who don't drink.Service efficient and food always comes out quickly. No table service but that's OK.Will return for sure.
