TLC Homewood Residential Aged Care

My mum has been there since September and I couldn't be happier. She is fed lovely food, in a clean comfortable room and the staff are great - nothing is too much trouble!

If I could give them 0 star I would do that.. such a pathetic service, wasted our time more than 2 weeks and then at the eleventh hour they said we can’t help you..

Visited a patient, the rooms are excellent and the staff and treatment were better than I have come across before, great meals and excellent gym for rehab

My mum was taken into homewood transition care earlier this year. The staff were friendly enough and the meals seemed reasonable and tasty. Sadly the covid restrictions and strain on the staff were very evident and I don't believe the care my mum received was of the highest standard, as I was led to believe it would be by reading the many great reviews. I spent many hours with my mum waiting on help to get to the bathroom or in need of pain management and she was told on many occasions the staff were too busy to get her to the bathroom. Thankfully we had mum transferred to St John of God prior to her passing. I was informed that mum had a nasty pressure sore which was not taken care of appropriately at Homewood. Sorry but I do not recommend homewood for transition care There were many other factors but to many to go into

Ideally, nobody wishes to find themselves in a situation where their loved one can no longer live independently and require day to day assisted care. Unfortunately, this is the reality for many as we continue to have an ever-increasing ageing population.Consequently, my mother has been living in Homewood Hallam for almost 2 years. After an initial adjustment period, we now see her very well settled. Staff worked tirelessly to make this happen and were able to provide options, care and choices to support this transition.Management is always very receptive to discuss care, concerns and ongoing improvement. Care is incredibly holistic to ensure social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs are met.Professional healthcare services are available including access to general practioners, geriatrics, cardiology, dietetics, psychology services, physiotherapy, podiatry, nurses and personal care workers. This is an incredibly important asset that is not readily available at all facilities and is one that brings our family much peace of mind.Facilities greatly complement these services including an outdoor bowling green, pitch and put green, a gym, a hydrotherapy pool with convenient change facilities pool deck, nice gardens and accessible pathways, private dining rooms, relaxing lounge areas and a café; all of which my mother accesses regularly.Day to day care and routine is exceptional including daily personal care, 3 meals a day, morning and afternoon tea and fresh fruit along with a multitude of engaging activities and entertainment including bus outings and enjoyable celebrations of various events throughout the year; all of which are facilitated by an amazing wellbeing team There are also daily walks with her physiotherapy team which have become a regular occasion and social opportunity my mother immensely enjoys.Staff that work closely with our mother know her every need and work tirelessly to ensure this is met. My mother has always maintained a wonderful sense of pride in her appearance and it is not an unusual to visit my mother at Homewood and find her beautifully dressed in a well-coordinated outfit with jewellery to match, hair styled, make up gracefully applied and nail polish to top it off. Compliments are plentiful to make our mother feel both confident and her normal self.As we make our way around the facility with our mother, she is greeted by name from the vast majority of staff and if not by name, she is met with a warm smile and a greeting.If you find yourself in the same formidable situation that I did two years ago with the need for your loved one to move into aged care living, then I highly recommend Homewood Hallam.

My father is in this facility and I have to tell, that from the first day I had a good a very good impression. Starting with the tour, the rooms, the nurses the reception and the GM, they are all amazing. You want to give your parents some good years think about Homewood Agecare in Hallam
