Bathurst Begonia House & Fernery
During the Autumn months from late February to the end of April, the iconic Begonia House in Machattie Park is alive with the blooming of over 90 variant hybrid species of begonia. From upright standing flowers, to pendulous and foliage begonias, the house is awash in vibrant colour and beauty. The flowers only last a short time so make sure to plan your trip to see the Begonia House.The Bathurst Begonia House sits on the eastern side of Machattie Park next to the Fernery.

Absolutely astonishing begonias full blossom in Autumn. Seems that middle of April is the best place to be here. Lots of varieties, all sorts of colors and shapes. Totally worth visiting.

I love the Begonia house and Fernery, Bathurst council do a wonderful job in maintaining both these greenhouses. Great to see them being utilised during events such as the Bathurst Winter Festival.

Begonia House will be open from middle of April to the end of May.The staff from Machattie Park will be displaying a fantastic multi-color display of Begonias this year, please don;t miss out this opportunity.

The flowers are very nice and have very interesting names. The ferns are peculiar but wonderful! Also, the statues and fountain in the fernery are a nice combination. A must come in April because of the flowers already bloomed.
