Took a $50 bag of purple $2 coins there a few years ago, as they buy coins. I was, quite smugly, told they'd give me face value of $50 for them (I would've accepted about $350 at the time). Sold it the following week for just short of $600. That bag is now worth over $3,000. Treat your customers with respect, offer a fair price (or at least have knowledgeable staff, if you're going to buy coins), and you'll go far. I've made a point of avoiding this place since my interaction with them (City store), and have been taking my business elsewhere (for much higher margins).I hope the 'attitude' issue has been resolved since; however, reading other comments, it still appears to be an issue.

Whilst having a great experiences previously when buying myself and family jewellery from here in past months and years, I found it a different story when making enquiries about selling unwanted estate jewellery items recently.Recommend that you look elsewhere to sell if you don't want to be faced with an immediate attitude front from the get go here. Got the impression that this was the staff member's least favourite part of their job.More welcoming and transparent experience to be had at a competitor when selling valuable gemstone and gold jewellery.

Grazia (Grace) is a star, so much personality and genuine warmth. This lady knows her stuff and how important great customer service is. 10/10.

I came here looking for a price to sell some jewellery. My first port of call. I was asked how much did I want. Having seen some spot prices from the Perth Mint website I relayed prices I was after. I was then asked would I sell if I got what I wanted. I advised I was going for quotes to 2 other places.I was promptly informed, get the quotes first and Then go back.I got my quotes and came back with my final pieces. Quoted my price. The jewellery was taken to the back where I could see it was tested using the same method I had. The scratch test. Not an accurate test at all.The assistant came back with a quote of $25 less than my best quote of $85 for the pieces I had. HUGE difference.The assistant was not happy when I informed no sale. She responded with we can't re-sell these. They are melt pieces and that is melt price".I'm sorry but if you treat customers as if they aren't worth your "precious" time

The experience in the Adelaide branch was good and the staff very helpful, however at Glenelg it was very different.The Glenelg sales assistant (who I also dealt with at the Adelaide branch) was first class. Very understanding of my needs, had a beautiful manner and attitude. What I found disappointing was a more ‘senior shop assistant’ or manager just kept staring at myself and husband throughout our almost $11,000 transaction. It made us feel as though either the lady serving me or my husband and I could not be trusted - it felt very uncomfortable.

Not a very welcoming experience. Just enquiried about getting a Pendant. Have 5k to spend and the lady with fringe, short hair didnt want a bar of me. The security guard out the front was more helpful. 5 stars to the security guard. Adelaide CBD next to the myers centre

What a shame zero stars isn't an option. Visited the Adelaide store to buy bullion. The blonde woman behind the desk is the rudest customer service person I've encountered in Adelaide. She needs to be reminded she is a retail assistant and service is part of her role. Some training in civility would also be appropriate. Will be putting my business through a competitor in future, and would recommend this store be avoided at all costs.Reply - the Stephens Place store on Saturday afternoon.

Absolutely wonderful service from the lovely ladies at Adelaide Exchange. Had to sell some old, unwanted jewellery I had collected over the years. I came prepared with an asking price for my jewellery and it turns out I under estimated myself. The lovely lady took a look at the jewellery after I said my asking price, she assesser it and told me the true value which was more than I asked for. They then bought my jewellery for the higher price!For any first timers overwhelmed with the thought of selling old jewellery, just come straight here.
