Wallaroo - Cabin Turon Gates

Rude owner manager who cant use email or sms to communicate, charged $100 for a one night cleaning fee and then complained back to me that the kitchen plates werent put away.

Not sure that our cabin was called 'Wallaroo'. Our cabin was the one down by the Turon River crossing set back from the road on top of the terrace.The cabin was spacious and could sleep up to eight people. One bedroom with a king bed and six single bunks in the living areas around the walls.The foam mattresses could have been a bit thicker, or firmer, but we solved that problem by getting two additional mattresses from the living area and stacking them with the existing mattresses in the bedoom.The cottage was well provisioned with kitchenware, and pots and pans, and the fridge was icy.Towels etc. were provided and the bathroom was relatively recently renovated and was spotless.In the rest of the cabin the floors had not been swept before we arrived and you could feel the grit underfoot on bare feet.Our cabin was adequate for what we wanted, it was just a little tired and needed a little clean and some TLC.We enjoyed our stay there and the proximity of the river for a dip, and to cool off, was wonderful.The owners were friendly and happy to have a chat.We had quite a lot of rain one afternoon and evening, which brought the river up about a metre, but that just added to the fun.All in all we had a wonderful few days break there and will return.

Second time at Turon Gates, first time we went camping but recently we stayed in one of the cabins, cabin number 5 was a nice getaway, relaxing and calm. The cabin consists of 3 rooms a bathroom a bedroom and a communal room. In the communal room there are 6 single beds that outline the room and the bedroom has a king size bed. The beds are average but not the worst, the cabin when full heats up pretty quickly. There is a variety of activities to do while staying such as fishing and swimming in the nearby river. The cabin comes equiped with an outdoor wood BBQ and a televisuon inside, and the owners have provided a selection of dvds to watch and also books to read and boardgames to play. The road in has some potholes although when you drive on dirt roads it's expected, and as long as you don't speed on the dirt road your car will be fine. Definitely would recommend visiting this camping ground just to get away one weekend.
