don Fred: a vegan gem in Newtown!I passed by don Fred a couple of times and the signage “Italian Street Kitchen” really intrigued me.Then I finally decided to give it a try - what can I say?! don Fred totally exceeded my expectations.I had the best focaccia with ricotta and fried zucchini - not even my Italian grandmother can make such a good focaccia!The calamari are insane!By the end of the night, I found out thay everything was vegan. I was more than impressed as I’m not vegan and I couldn’t tell the difference.The vibe is good, the music makes such a difference - I felt at home!Thanks Lorenzo and the team. Cannot recommend you more!

Hands down best sandwiches, buns and calamari in the biz!! I have came back here a few times now because of that. The konjamari is unreal, paired with the seaweed tartare sauce is an amazing combination. If you have to try only one thing from don Fred it would have to be that. But the buns and focacce are also next level and will impress all vegan and non-vegan folk alike. Loaded with delicious veggies, plant based cheeses and incredible sauces. My favourite so far is the Beach Breeze but it was probably because I was in a fish burgery mood at the time. The foccacia were so soft and fluffy. If you want something hearty and loaded - the Don Bun - yummm. The creamy sauce, fried egg"

Hands down one of the best spots in Sydney to enjoy a quality munch! Serving up delicious focaccias and buns packed full of flavour, you can’t go wrong with anything you pick from their perfectly curated menu.Been here so many times and have never been disappointed.Do yourself a favour and check out the Polpetz and Ricotta & Crispy Zucchini focaccia and be prepared transported into food heaven!The place is also super cute and funky! A really enjoyable atmosphere to be in :)The owner is also so lovely- you can tell he really cares about the food he is serving.Can’t recommend this place enough!So yum, I’m still dreaming about it.

Italian vegan street food. Best burger I've had in a very long time. The sauce on it was unique and delicious. Very nice service and atmosphere. I'll be back.

Wow! This is some of the best focaccia I’ve ever had. It is so incredibly fluffy and flavourful! The owner is incredibly friendly and the the restaurant has a great vibe. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Fantastic dishes and cool vibes. Sydney needed an all vegan Italian street food spot! You won't find their focaccia anywhere else in the city - I tried their special with ricotta, crispy zucchini and parmigiano. A very generous portion served by lovely people. Will be back soon to have a taste of the buns.

Absolutely delicious food. You can tell the owner and his team really care about the quality of food they are serving - and that starts with sourcing exceptional ingredients.So far I've enjoyed they pulled mushroom Focaccia from the specials board, as well as the Americano and Crispy Zucchini Don Buns. The Konjamari with tartare was also incredibly moreish.The food is seriously impressive, and had me planning my next visit while I was still eating. I cannot wait to explore more of the menu.

Popped in to Don Fred for lunch today and I'm so glad I did! Service was friendly and the SmokeyPepper burger I had was absolutely delicious. Really juicy, great flavours. Will definitely be working my way through the menu, what a great addition to the area.

Delicious! The best focaccia in town - and you’d never know it was plant based. Loved the konjac calamari and zucchini fritters too.
