If you're looking for further adventure or wee bit more workout for your legs, then don't stop at the 1000 Steps summit, walk towards One tree hill picnic ground and head towards Lord Somers Rd, you will find an unmarked track down hill. It's about 380m steep downhill towards Tyson Track. From there turn to your left and walk 200m then you will be at the Outlook Track intersection. Don't take the outlook track, just before that there is another unmarked uphill track which will take you back to One tree hill picnic ground. It's worth it!Caution: I don’t recommend during rainy days. It can be very slippery. Hiking shoes will surely help you with sturdy grip.E N J O Y !

Fantastic forested walk just outside Melbourne. Contains a mix of wet and dry Eucalyptus forest with pockets of wet temperate rainforest with towering ferns. Can get very busy on weekends so go early or late, or on weekdays.

It's a great place to go and reconnect with nature and spend time with friends and family. The 1,000 steps are open and worth doing whether for a workout, spend time in nature or to enjoy the views. The are a few options for returning back down the hill depending on how energetic you're feeling and how much time you have. The cafe is unfortunately closed as it had been really struggling through the lockdowns and storms so hopefully they'll get a new lease on life soon.

This is one of the best parks to visit, with numerous walking tracks and wildlife roaming around.

I hiked this the other weekend using public transportation to get there. There is a nice little cafe at the base that I ate at. Affordable with nice staff. The hike can be as challenging as you want it to be. I went pretty hard on the way up and was exhausted at the top. You can take Ramblers track near the base if you want a more a trail that is less populated. 100% a good work out.

Not exactly what I was expecting but still a nice day out.It isn't just stairs from bottom to top it is path with some steps and they aren't large steps. Definitely not as big of a challenge as I was hoping for and the view was okay but nothing spectacular.

Probably one of Melbourne's most popular walks. And it's easy to see why. Warning, decent fitness level required.

This forest area is definitely worth seeing. There are different tracks you can do, depending on how much you want to exert yourself and depending on how much time you have. There is also the famous 1000 steps which can be done. If you don't want to walk, then you have the option of sitting at the Ferntree Gully Picnic Area. There is plenty of parking available as well.
