Friendly service and lots of variety. Found some hair products that I usually have to travel to the south side for. Definitely recommend having a look!

Been there so many times on our way to family gatherings. Customer service? what customer service!? This has been lacking since our first experience. Biltong was ok on our last visit, but under/no seasoning. Borewors is very inconsistent.I've located a better source of Biltong, jerky nuts on Samford Rd, Enogerra. And as for Wors, best go to Terry Orreal Butcher on Kremzow Rd, Brendale - these guys have a great recipe and most importantly, they stick to the recipe every time. This may be a bit inconvenient, but far better than being disappointed every time.

I have been to this store twice now. I have tried to be fair in how I review them. In terms of customer service, I feel they let themselves down with the aspect they can most control - It should be easy to make South Africans feel at home in an SA store and yet their engagement is poor. However the staff will help you politely if you engage themI was able to find all the products I usually look for, Boerie, Biltong, All Gold, peppermint crisps and caramel treat cans. However the Biltong is good if you like it unseasoned/ minimally seasoned as the only seasoning they offer is Aromat.Lastly, I dont know what import costs are involved but over $7 for a can of caramel treat is extortion. The boerewors at $17pkg is on par with most butchers for sausages. All in all some prices seem ok and others will leave you clutching at your false teeth.Would I go back? Prehaps, but not without keeping an eye out for a better alternative. Hopefully they are able to raise their game as SA shops are too few.customer service 5/10Variety of products 8/10Biltong 6/10Price 5/10

Great friendly service. Just wish some of the foods such as Fritos not so out of date

This rating is for their dry-wors and biltong. Their meat product is at least very consistent and we appreciate that. It’s hard to find SA butchers in Brisbane that can do SA meat well and this store does do it well. This store has some other rather ordinary aspects where it feels a bit lacking in something special but it does not really concern us because we only buy meat and then leave.I have seen another review suggesting that the customer service might be lacking and I would have to say that is probably a fair observation. The staff are polite but they are also not actively engaging at times either. A person definitely does feels like you have entered a family business where the people working at the store are possibly a big bored or frustrated and that they might wish to be elsewhere. I imagine it’s also tricky not to intrude or chase shoppers away with such a small shop so perhaps they are limited in what they can offer or do to engage with clients?Perhaps some cooking lessons would be fun, even if they were virtual/ online to get customers more engaged in popping over to buy some specific ingredients? I don’t know? Just a thought....That being said we did pop in one Saturday and they were cooking up some sausages on a bbq outside and it smelt amazing. It was also the best cooked boerewors that we had tasted in years. So we still love this store simply because it does SA meat well and the counter staff are not rude or unhelpful.I did however buy some wet biltong the other day and nearly choked when a small bag full cost me $17! That’s the only time I felt the price was a bit steep. It’s still great to have them around and we wish the continued support and success.

My first time visiting springbok foods since arriving in Australia 15 years ago. The north lakes store. Totally amazing. Found koeksusters, droewors, chappies bubblegum and fizz pops. Oh my word. I found my piece of home. And borewors, the Cheesewors heaven!! I used to drive from Durban to Margate in order to buy a borewors I loved, now it’s up the road. Huge fan and total convert.Awesome customer service. Lindsay . You were fantastic and everyone was welcomed with a laugh and a smile. I’m an ex hotel manager and chef , so customer service is the make or break for me.So if you are looking for anything and everything South African. You found it !Visited on the 20/5/21. The day before my birthday. That trip was just the ultimate. Will be there often from now on.
