Was driving from Adelaide to Geelong and wanted to also stop by Ballarat to have a quick look. What better than to stop by a restaurant right on Lake Wendouree? I was toying with my chances when I visited for dinner as I had no idea what time I'd arrive if I were to make a reservation. Thankfully, the restaurant was relatively empty and we got seated rather quickly.Water was promptly served and we went with the tasting menu for $60 a person. The variety was great and I can't recommend the Japanese fried chicken enough. I was a little wary about having Asian inspired dishes in a mostly western restaurant but they proved me absolutely wrong. It turned out to be the best chicken karaage I've ever had!All other dishes were awesome too. However, pork belly was a little too small and could've been bigger but taste was 100% on point.

Great food at a great location! We ordered 2 main dishes and 2 desserts. The price is reasonable for a nice dining experience and good portion.The salmon with noodles was beautiful with the balance of sweet , sour and savoury taste. The Lamb shank Massaman curry was also well done with the meat just fall off the bone and well seasoned.The meringue is nice and chewy. The chocolate cake is delicious but maybe because it’s flourless, it’s quite dense to my personal liking and I need to have the cake with the ice cream with every bite or it’s just hard to swallow.

We stood at the cash register/counter when we entered and the staff behind the counter didn't acknowledge us and explain 'we are just sorting out an issue with an order'. So we waited there for what seemed an eternity before they finished and then acknowledged us. Felt invisible and that's not how you want to feel when you eat at a restaurant. Food was average. We had the mussels as an entree and they gave us 2 lousy slices of what seemed like supermarket Vienna bread to dip up all the sauce, wasn't even a nice bread.Pizza was good. Calamari salad was tasty and had a decent amount of calamari in it.

Attended kid's birthday celebration with family and friends on a dull and rainy Sunday. Very attractive location on the edge of the lake, with clear weather protection all round. Warm inside, friendly and polite staff, and very good menu reasonably priced. Recommend.

BEAUTIFUL place, right on the water and tastefully decorated inside. Food is very good. My aunt and I really enjoyed our lunch at this place, our waitress was lovely. the only negative is that the service is a bit slow and for long stretches of time she was not in sight for us to wave and get her to come to us.

Lovely place to take your parents to for a coffee. Food was okay depends what you order. They have a seafood chowder night on Tuesday. Would like to see if the food improves on those nights

Very friendly service and great food, the Japanese chicken was excellent. Comfortable and dog friendly area with heating, a wonderful place to relax on a rainy day.

First timer here. Beautiful views. The service and food were both great and very fast. Even though the restaurant was full it wasn't loud and our meal was so relaxing and enjoyable.

Had a birthday lunch here for ten people, good food options including gluten free options, service was good and cost was reasonable, food was tasty and reasonable portions, would visit again.
