I could absolutely not be more happy with this organisation....I contacted them this afternoon in regards to a poor little baby dove who was sitting on flinders street separated from its mother and a little distressed, due to work I was unable to stay with the little guy but put him in a safe place and contacted this place and within half an hour had the little guy safe and in there care. And damien even made the effort to send me through a photo without even me having to ask. Thank you so VERY much to all of you who most probably volunteer your services to protect and help our wildlife...APPRECIATE you so very much. I will forever be grateful.

When faced with a small injured animal in an urban environment, as was the case for me, it was reassuring to know exactly who to call in order to reach out on behalf of the frightened and vulnerable. I came upon a possum terribly injured in a house fire. The home had been gutted and the story of the fire was in the news. This home backed onto parkland as did my home and I knew from experience just how many possum families lived in my garden and obviously the garden and, god forbid, the roof of the house that been destroyed. Running frantically back and forward in the garden was a possum. A man had stopped in his car as he spotted the possum while driving past. He gave the little possum water and attempted to feed it some banana. I ran home for my phone and called NQ Wildlife Carers with a description of events and the address. They took charge from there taking the little possum away and checking for others. They kindly contacted me the following day to let me know how the little possum had fared.Compassionate, calm and informed this team of volunteers carry out an essential, if not vital role in the care of wildlife in North Queensland. Knowing that NQ Wildlife Care exists enables me to sleep at night and have hope for a future for our very fragile wildlife community.

It is not cost price, it is cheaper to go to the expensive pet shops or if willing to wait a bit longer go on line directly to companies that sell the item's you want

The dedication volunteers who where there to speak on all the animals they care for,i would recommend that anyone with an interest in our native animals to become a member.

I went there to renew my membership by cash or card but they don't do it at shop. Must do on line. Guess I won't be a member anymore.
