Do not hire from these guys . Absolutely fraudulent company . Have taken Monies out after the rental and it’s happened to quite a few people I know . Then when addressed they have said it was an error and made to wait 8 weeks before I saw the money back . .. DO NOT HIRE FROM HERE

Untrustworthy damage claims and abysmal communication.Like previous negative reviews, Ozzy claimed damages to the car, which I do not recollect when I returned the vehicle.Despite several emails and calls from myself, I only every received 2 calls from Ozzy. First to claim there was damage, and the other a returned call from Nick, who was unable to help, as he had no documentation of the claim. Apparently the person managing the claim was not available, and worked on a different system. I did request she call, but never eventuated.More than happy to use my excess for damage - the whole reason I took it out, but when I do not recall any damage occurring, and not visible on my own photos, I would expect documentation prior to taking the excess from my account.Following is a copy and paste from my last email sent to Ozzy (if anyone is interested in the details). No reply (again) has been received.Good morning,I have contacted you several times to try and resolve this claim over damage to a car during my rental. I have summarised below, and request a response by close of business today:1. Nissan XTRAIL 504ZIU rented from Sunday 21/8/2022 to Friday 26/8/2022. Photos taken prior to drop off.2. Returned and handed over the key for inspection when returned to Maudsland. Gentleman who took the key opened the driver's door and (what I believed) inspected the car. I waited in the office for checks to be done, and told I was good to go. No comment on any damage (apparently to drivers door).3. Received a call 3 days later on Monday from Renae claiming damage to the car, and the $500 insurance deposit would be used to cover.4. Was told I would receive a full report and documentation within 24 to 48 hours.5. I commented that I could not recall any damage when I dropped off the car, but will await the report.6. I looked over the photos that night. Could not see damage. Called the next day and left a voice message (as the call was directed to answering service) if I could drop by to sort it out in person. Did not receive a call back7. Did not receive any further communication from Ozzy8. Received notification from accountant there was $500 taken from the account. Called to find out what was going on9. Was told by Renae (15/9/2022) the damage was not noted till 3 days after drop off as the car had to be transported to her offsite, as she was away at a funeral that weekend.Therefore there had been 3 days, and the car had been used PRIOR to inspection.No damage was noted on my photos. It is entirely plausible damage could have occured during those 3 days and while being transported.I still had not received any documentation at this point.Later that day I did receive an invoice totaling $500:Damage - $285Vehicle out of service charge $140 -(more than the daily rate I was paying for rental)Admin Fee - $75 (unreasonable and excessive)- So now I have the $500 excess taken from the account PLUS a $500 invoice that I keep getting reminders for.I asked if I could drop in again and go over this with Renae. She said she would be available the following Monday (19/9/2022) at Maudsland.I went to the Maudsland office that Monday morning around 10am. Renae was not there.Gentleman onsite was not able to help, as Renae was taking care of the claim and she was working with a different computer system"10. I have called multiple times

Was greeted warmly on arrival and offered a car that better suited my needs in regards to technology. Was an easy process to book and be driving out quickly.However I was quite disappointed when informed about damage on the car (that we still don't believe was ours as no one used the backseat) the next day. It seemed like a hassle when I started asking for photos of car prior to hire. I was told the photos were coming via email but never received it. After calling to let them know that I hadn’t received any emails they couldn’t have been more dismissive. I know you’re all saying ‘you should have taken your own photos’. Don’t worry I feel stupid that I didn’t do this. Lesson learnedBegrudgingly was obviously going to wear the excess however was more disappointed that my requests were the least of their priority and I felt quite disheartened given I was about to be lumped with $500 excess.I don't know if I caught them on a very busy day but this has been a really upsetting experience.48 hours later and till haven’t received photos of car prior like I had been told on multiple occasions.Amended review - after reading many of the other 1 star reviews it would seem that I was right in thinking they pulled a dodgy on me. It seems many others are having similar experiences then Nick will respond afterwards with aggressive and rude comments. Be careful when hiring from these guys. These other 5 star reviews seem bogus now

Our experience with OCR was excellent, until it wasn’t. We were looking to rent a car on 24th Dec 2022, and most places around surfer’s were closed that day. After some digging around we found OCR and on arrival was warmly greeted by Immi. We explained to her that we wanted the car for a few hours, and wanted to return it that day itself at night cause we were flying out the next morning . As the shop closes around 5 pm, Immi offered us a solution to drop off the car at the owner’s house which was about a 30 mins drive from Surfer’s. This is where the tricky part begins. The next day OCR wouldn’t be open as it was Christmas and neither would it’s Airport branch where we said we could drop off if they wanted. So, we agreed to drop the car off at an obscure location that was completely out of our way because Immi had gone out of her way to arrange it for us. I then confirmed about the various rates and charges, the different clauses and Immi very graciously explained most of them to us. However, what she skipped telling us was that we would be charged an extra $50 for dropping the car off at a different location than the pick up, which was suggested by Immi herself cause their store would be closed. Had we known about these extra charges, we would drop the car off at their airport location the next day before we flew off and not drive for an extra 30 mins that night, not pay for that extra cab ride we took back home, and neither would we have to take another cab in the morning from Surfer’s to the airport.We reached out to OCR on 28th Dec regarding this and ended up having a heated argument. One of the agents told us, I quote,” there’s no way you’re getting that money back!” We asked them to check their CCTV and get back to us that Immi never told us about this T&C (cause let’s be real nobody reads the T&Cs while filling a form) but we still haven’t heard back from them.As someone who also works in this industry, I just want to reinstate one thing only and that is, businesses like these work on trust and build their reputation on word of mouth. I would never recommend OCR to anyone. Rather go out of my way to make sure no one again falls prey to this little scam you’re running

Pathetic and a bunch of scammers!!!!! took money out of my account 3 weeks after the return of the car and said there was damages . Even though they inspected the car upon me returning it . These guys are crooks !!!!

Overall happy with my personal experience despite all the negative reviews. I got a Mitsubishi mirage 2021 with a rear view cam, BT & navigation screen which helped alot to get to my destination safely. Nick was friendly to deal with and his wife went through the inspection with me prior to the rental. I returned the car with full tank and very clean so I received my bond back as promised. I would recommend OCR to others looking to rent as they have high quality vehicles and a good customer service (being open even on public holidays).Maybe something they could improve is go through the post rental inspection when you drop the car off straight away. I can imagine with being short of staff and nick unable to walk over himself it could be tricky. However for the peace of mind for both OCR and the customer, the inspection must be done as soon as the car is returned and agreement signed that the car was returned with no damage / discussion over any damage identified by OCR BEFORE the customer leaves the establishment.

SCAMMERS SCAMMERS...STAY AWAY from Ozzy Car Rentals (OCR) this place ruined the end of our family holiday. We returned the car without any damages they confirmed said it was all good very friendly all smiles upto this point until we were dropped off at the airport with the shuttle they immediately took out $1500, when my husband called OCR after recieving bank notifcications of money withdrawals had a manager telling him the car had a damage on the roof which was NOT true the assessor cleared it checked his list and said were good to go my husband asked do i sign anything both him and the girl at front said it was all good. When my husband was trying to explain and talk to the manager he wasn't hearing us just kept saying go through your insurance. Why would i need to go through my insurance when we didnt cause the damage? Why clear a car say its all good and then within 30 mins of us leaving money gets taken out without a phone call to explain or any authorisation on our end. We had a long day had 2 small kids and naturally my husband was getting frustrated as this manager kept saying the damage was from our end and to go through insurance.. eventually stopped picking up our calls aswell. This is a disgusting way to run a business.. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS or risk having thousands taken out. Disgraceful!!
