A great service to help us negotiate the complexities of entering residential care. We were able to see what would happen with each scenario (rent/sell) which was explained really clearly so that we could understand how mum's pension and fees would be affected. Balanced Aged Care were amazing!! I can't stress enough how important it is to have a meeting with them BEFORE you or your loved ones enter full time care at an aged care home. Their advice has saved us over $30,000 a year in accommodation payments. It makes their $1200 fee worth its weight in gold! Carol gave us all the different scenarios available to us and even helped with Centrelink forms. We also dealt with Eric, the owner of the business, and his knowledge and advice are second to none. He spent a lot of time on phone calls with us (at no extra charge) and was able to help us navigate a different path when one of our parents passed away unexpectedly while on respite. It was a huge spanner in the works for our original plans and scenarios, but Eric's expertise helped us still get our mum into full time care as a partially supported resident, saving us $30K a year in supplemental accommodation costs. Dad and I were told we had a $550 000 nursing home placement bill for Mum or pay a $95 non refundable daily fee.
