Learn How To Photograph

As a now graduate of certificate's in both, photography and design, Derry's teaching, got me through some of my, assignment's from the knowledge gained from her, beginner's workshop and online workshop's. When there, had been no extra support. Now, at an intermediate level of photography, since graduating, from both photography and design.

For anyone looking to get into photography, I can highly recommend Derry at LHTP. Her patient plain English teaching style, no techno speak, accompanied with hands on practice got me off AUTO and helped me understand how to find light and get the shot. LHTP’s beginners’ course is wonderful. Its everything you need to know spread out over a time frame that actually allows you to take the information in, understand and implement it. The workshops are brilliant for reinforcing what you have learnt and give you the opportunity to ask those pesky little questions and improve your skills further. Thanks Derry and Caro.

Did a learn how to photograph" group of classes with Derry a few years ago. It was the first time I gained an understanding of how to "Use" my camera properly. Brilliant and the best thing I've done. I Continue to build on the skills I gained after a few weeks with Derry. Have done other sessions since and look forward to more in the future.I highly recommend Derry and her classes to anyone who wants to either learn the basics or to consolidate their photography skills."

Having done a couple of on-line beginner's courses with Derry and Caro, I can definitely say I have loved the professionalism and the lovely encouraging way the information was presented. I got great support, and any lack of progress in my photography journey was completely down to me. I have been LHTP basic and intermediate classes as well as one off classes in various locations. I have learnt so much from Derry about my camera, my ability and my photography.I am taking photos I never dreamt I could do and that’s all due to Derrys excellent teaching ability and patience. There has never been a class that hasn’t given me an ‘ahha’ moment. I am so blessed to have found this talented lady.

Derry teaches photography using a logical and methodical curriculum, from the basics of camera settings to the well advanced. She's patient and understands teaching and learning so that every student leaves feeling confident enough to adjust settings to take portraits, landscapes, lightning strikes, night skies and images of moving objects. Derry is a great speaker, listener and teacher. I'm grateful to have done her course.

Derry is a wonderful teacher. I’ve done a number of classes with her, starting with the beginners session, moving onto intermediate, and the way she explains things and shares her knowledge makes it easy to learn. The environment is comfortable and there are no silly questions. Have also done a Full Moon workshop, Macro Workshop, Lightroom, and a one on one session prior to a trip to Africa. The reason I keep coming back is because every time I do, I learn something new. The Learn How to Photograph community is supportive and great to be part of. Thanks to Derry, I can see the light! Derry is a brilliant teach, mentor and coach. The groups are small so she can give each participant time. Highly recommend taking one of Derry’s classes and/or participating in one of the workshops.
