City of Whittlesea

Useless. Phones not working. On hold for hours. Yet, they are quick to send you rates and follow ups for payment etc. Further, council parks and green areas have grass up to 2m in areas..hasn’t been cut all year! Useless. Ripping off the tax payer day in day out! How can we change this? Please comment below!

I would like to know why our parks are so ugly and poorly maintained yet we pay for the upkeep in our Rates. Look at other areas and parks are lovely, with grass you can sit on, well maintained and pleasing to look at it. Can Council please make our parks as nice as other areas, please don’t say you don’t have the finances when you get plenty of $.

I was contacted Friday morning to come in for a cat adoption on the weekend. I then filled out the Excess Animal Permit and rang Whittlesea Council to say i would arrive at 5pm to pay for the filled out permit. I arrived at 5:03pm and wasn’t allowed to pay for the permit meaning to could not adopt the rescue cat and it was unfortunately taken off the site.Really sad to see many council staff standing outside laughing and talking and not willing to help a member of the community. I really hope the cat found a home because the alternative is very sad.Allowing 3-4 weekend hours for permits or a 6pm closing time one day a week would be worth considering.

I was doing business like normal. And these council staffs come to harass my business all the time. At the end, they find me doing nothing wrong. They could not find anything wrong with my business even though they try their best to bring down local business. What a bunch of low! They talk like they are the king. Talk to local business like we are the slave to them. What a bunch.

I had to call the council today about my weekly Bin Not Being Cleared on Wed 07/06/23 (and was istead told my neighbour's bins were not there - which was correct )BUT MY BIN WAS PUT OUT AT THE SAME PLACE THE NIGHT BEFORE LIKE I HAVE DONE FOR OVER 10-12 YEARS.THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN 12 MONTHS, DIDN'T COMPLAIN THE FIRST TIME.MY OPPOSITE NEIGHBOUR IS READY TO VERIFY TOO.LET'S WAIT AND SEE AND WILL FOLLOW UP ON WHAT HAPPENS.ALSO THE PAGE TO REPORT ABOUT BINS IS NOT USER FRIENDLY ON THE COUNCIL WEBSITE.HOWEVER THE FEMALE CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF ON PHONE AT 10.39AM TODAY, WAS POLITE AND UNDERSTANDING AND TOLD ME TO LEAVE THE BIN AS IT IS WHILST ITS BEEN CHECKED.I DID TELL HER TO CHECK WITH THE GOOGLE EARTH AND MY BIN WILL BE THERE AS IT SHOULD BE.HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE RESOLVED, ASAP

Most pathetic council in Victoria. How can I possibly get a infringement notice if I park in a zone where it states its a 1 hour zone between hours of 7am-9am at Epping plaza. I parked in this zone after 9am meaning the 1 hour parking no longer applies according to the sign. If you need people to do the right thing, maybe put up signs that make sense. I have appealed the infringement notice and they have rejected it with some garbage excuse, makes no sense and they don't give you any other option.

Dreadful council. First home owner & it took the council 3 years to approve and the land to title. I waited nearly 5 years for my house to be finished. During this time I had to pay rent. I also could not get out of the contract after waiting more than 2 years, like multiple neighbours of me also tried to. Then finally we move in and we get fined nearly $140 because of parking partly on the footpath in our own driveway 8:30pm (which happened to several neighbours to). This has never happened to me in my 12 years in Melbourne.

DisgustingNew home owner moving into their new homes but decides to come along fine a cars that were legally allowed to park on the street. Good one.. just keep finding everyone that is moving into their new homes.. no sympathy what so ever..

I got fined by council for parking at Costco one day, which is 3P sign posted. I am a healthcare worker who got called into work at The Northern Hospital during a time when the staff car parking was being rebuilt, and i thought i was doing the right thing by not parking along the No Stopping" sign posted areas. Yet i got fined for "overstaying" in the 3P area. But for years now dozens of cars parking along "No Stopping" sign posted areas between Costco and the hospital receive no infringnements! I contested the fine and got no reply but instead a bigger fine from council! Outrageous!"

They do not even justify why they would reject the case in an appeal for a parking fine (because they have none)... also, $111 is a bit of a rip-off for parking in quiet, residential areas. This council is extremely disappointing in their management and policies. I hope my fine payment goes to something useful, such as removing the reported d**d kangaroos (sadly) from residential areas sooner instead of leaving them for days where their stench stinks up the neighbourhood. Take my $111 Whittlesea Council... seems like you need it.
