Salvos Stores West Gosford

One of the largest stores on the Central Coast. A huge range of clothes in all sizes. All the donated furniture and items are checked for fair, wear and tear and I assure that only A grade items are placed instore for sale. I can honestly there is something for everyone in this store. You could easily snap up a great bargain. There is also new never used products, eg toiletries, pillows, confectionery, candles, bathroom and kitchen cleaners.The clothing items which are too worn or have a default, ie. tears, to faded, soiled are either ship overseas or used for spother services provided by The Salvation Army. The staff normally are volunteers or work for the dole recipients who work normally 25 hours p/wk.

Prices have risen. Aren't they suppose to be there to offer things at a better price. They get the merchandise for free. So why the price rise

I had some good quality pieces of furniture which I was unable to store in a way that would protect them from the weather. I could easily have sold them, however I decided to donate them instead. With the current situation with COVID-19, my wife and I felt that people were in more need than ever. I spent an hour and a half cleaning them well and then loaded them into my trailer to take to the Salvos Store. I had been called to an emergency job so I took the furniture to drop it off on the way. Before doing so, I checked the Salvos Store West Gosford website and saw that it stated that it was open.When I arrived at the store, I was briskly told by the male staff member that the store was closed. When I showed him that the website said it was open, he very rudely said I don't care what the website says - the store is closed". I was obviously frustrated that I had gone to the effort to clean and load the furniture (some of which was heavy) to then be treated with rudeness. If he had been polite and understanding I would have accepted the situation. When I told him that I had gone to some effort and travelled some way with the furniture

Well spaced store, female clothes mostly by colour grouping rather than sizes, separate racks for 16+. I managed to find 2 reasonably priced summer tops today.

People don't social distance properly and there was very little of interest for such a large store. Pretty ordinary looking crowd in there. Might have been the time of week.Staff good though.

This is a big store and has something for everyone. They have really good remanufactured beds for sale at good prices. lots of furniture and plenty of cloths. they are really well sorted and labelled so its easy to find what you want.They also have a good selection of grocery items

Very well organised...parking right out front. Lovely staff. A good range of kitchen, china... clothes arranged by size and category...spacious...not a lot of furniture .. and money you spend hours to a great cause. Drop off around the back with clear info as to what is useful ..with parking.

Don't bother donating furniture. They don't accept anything unless it is absolutely perfect. Even perfect things they don't accept. We wanted to donate two lovely dining chairs in perfect condition but the wouldn't accept them because their wasn't 6 of them.So don't bother donating furniture to them. Give them to a charity that wants and can use it.
