King Sound Resort Hotel

Great place, very clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff and great food at the bar.The freshly renovated pool area is a real oasis.Don't be fooled by the outside it's the inside that counts.

Oh dear what shame this once grand establishment has declined so much. Basically everything needs so much attention where would you start. My bed was comfortable but the room was not very clean. The milk in the fridge was frozen. Thank goodness it was in tiny containers. Food was ok. I really hope improvements can be made to bring it back to how lovely it would have been when it first opened.

Place most definitely needs renovation, with more modern furniture and aircon.Just looks like it's still have same furniture from when first opened. Such a awesome hotel that needs life put back into .

Eventho this place needs to be maintained more, but the employee and the vibe are excellent

Only here for pickup for horizontal falls but had a drink while we waited for driver. Girl serving bar was clearly not in right job huffing and puffing when asked questions, no eye contact, she was just un pleasant

Shut down. No-one visible at the location. Rear doors are open, but no-one home. Place hasn't been cared for in a long time. Steer clear!

I stayed at this hotel for several weeks while i was working in derby.The hotel while i was there was very quiet due to heavy rains and the wet season but i found the hotel staff,management and owner (wayne) to be great people and friendly.Several nights we sat down have a few ice cold beers and chatting and watching tv on the massive out door tv in the beer gardenAnd sharing lots of laughs and good times.The food is awesome with big servings cooked with love by the owners wife.Plus the owners daughter work behind the bar to, which makes this place very much a family feel for all who stay there.The rooms are a good size with really comfortable beds and cold a/c the tvs are the older box style in the room i stayed in but it had its own set top box so very clear channels (although i didnt watch tv to much due to work then sleep).The bathrooms are a good size with good size shower recess to and plenty of hot water (although this time of year here you need water from an ice machine as it's 35 degrees and 90% humidity)The hotel has plenty of secure parking out back and has a nice cool pool to.The hotel has a good size restaurant dining room and big bar with plenty of choices to opt from.Over all i truely liked this hotel by far the best hotel in derby.I suggest you go say hi to wayne and family and stay awhile and rest and relax and explore this beautiful part of the world.You won't be disappointed.

After $380 on drinks and meals. The bar person didnt like 0ne bottle of beer going on the card. Attitude could be improved. Place us a lot of potential. In general was ok.

Was put here for covid quarantine. Not a good place to be cooped up for 6 days. Very old, run down & unclean. Everything needs to be updated. What was charged for the 6 days accommodation & meals was criminal.Dont ever go there!
