We got the dinner for two at lunch. Better sales tag would be ‘Meal for two’ more suitable for anytime of the day.This pack included 2 pieces of fish, (beer battered, crumbed or grilled), 4 calamari rings, scoop of chips, 4 small garlic prawns x 2 mini containers of tartare sauce and a 1.25 bottle of drink - we choose the water for hydration on a scorching hot day.Friendly and fast service.Gave 4 stars because I felt the fish and chips were a little over cooked. On the plus plus side. They are very generous with the chips and the pack itself was nearly presently we thought. So well done Captain Hook.One suggestion... change the front door to a roller door to open up the shop and make it more inviting. A renovation would do the shop some good.

Best fish and chips in Gold Coast✨fish and chips for $10.50. Staff is lovely and the amount of chips they put it heaps. Calamari is also tasty. I’ll definitely recommend this place

I have been a loyal customer of Captain Hook’s for 15 years as a Currumbin local. It was my absolute favourite fish and chips ever, but I have felt really disappointed the last few times we have been. I am only writing this review in hope that the owners see, and possibly look at the consistency of the food they are serving. Today coming back from the beach we just ordered a large chips. They were inedible and the four of us left without hardly eating any. The peel was left on, they were really badly overcooked, and we asked for chicken salt and didn’t get any. In the past Captain Hook’s was my go-to for chips, I absolutely loved them!Also, I understand giving young kids a go at serving but they really should be trying. The young boys who served us made no eye contact, and to be honest were pretty rude. Not a good representation of your business and probably need a bit of mentoring and training.Good luck Captain Hook’s, I truly hope you can turn your famous chips around.

The menu online is incorrect.. prices are wrong, it's more expensive in storeIt is over priced for a local fish n chips shopHorrible atmosphere with boys running the shopDust everywhere! My partner had to sit in the car because of her allergiesShould have read the reviews before coming here because there's not alot of great ones!And the ones that do leave good reviews obviously dont know what a good Aussie fish n chips shop is!*Fish mongers in burly has a great atmosphere and great pricesMost want to eat there hot chips at the beach or tables.. Sorry captain hooked but your shop is ment to be inviting for customers

Top place at Tungun to get fish scallops and many other takeaway foods.Limited seating out the front under cover.Well used by localsPotatoes scallops are really worth the visit.Limited supply of fresh fish which means it's fresh. Try the Whiting tail's.Forget the Hake ( shark) it's no different to the run of mill frozen imported second rate fish. Try to buy Australian fresh and you will enjoy the experience more.Of very busy so expect to wait 15-20mins.

Chips were well cooked but fish was mushy and too oily. The basis of good fish is the type and cooking temperature to avoid oil. Great old pics on wall. My daughter had a better experience so maybe it's the cook. The food quality should be of importance
