It's a great place to learn about Australia's history of democracy. The part I liked the most is that they keep the PM s suite as it was exactly, and I can sit in the sofa next to PM s desk! After all, it's all free except the coffee ☕

Great time travel to the past! Had low expectations as I thought it would be old and boring things but the whole place was like frozen in time from the 80’s.I really enjoyed seeing the little details so posters and food from the past. There were a few education exhibits but it was mostly reading things which I am not about. It’s free to enter and a great piece of Australian history. Definitely recommend if you haven’t been since you were a kid or never been!

Always love MOAD, it’s many displays & it’s Cafe.Yummy food, but not cheap (soup was $18, most things around $24, a biscuit almost $5, coffee around $5.50, but since entry to the whole Museum is free: Worth it!

We took our 5 and 8yr old boys there recently when visiting Canberra and found Old Parliament House very interesting. It really felt like we were travelling back in time. Tent City was also something fascinating to see.

If you are looking for a truly exceptional experience in the heart of Australia's capital city, Old Parliament House is a must-visit destination. The historic building has stunning architecture. Every detail of this magnificent building is sure to impress. But it's not just the building itself that makes Old Parliament House such a special place to visit. During my recent trip there, I had the pleasure of being guided around by Bianca, who despite being new to the role, did an absolutely fantastic job. Her passion for the building and its history was evident in every word she spoke, and she had a wonderful way of bringing the stories of the past to life.I can confidently say that Old Parliament House is a must-do for locals and anyone visiting Canberra. Not only is it a fascinating insight into the political history of Australia, but it is also a stunning architectural gem that deserves to be seen and appreciated by all. Whether you're a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or just looking for a unique and memorable experience, Old Parliament House is the perfect destination. So why not take a tour and discover the rich history and beautiful architecture for yourself? You won't be disappointed!

free entry! don’t judge a book by its cover. the outside/ the name had me thinking that it was going to be boring and a lot of history. but i was pleasantly surprised to find that it was very in depth, lots of interactive up to date really interesting things inside!

It was such an interesting place to visit. It's a time warp going back to the eighties and fascinating to read about some of the key players of politics and the journalists back in the day combined with seeing what parliament looked like. My daughter loved it, and she is 15 - go figure!

What an amazing experience! Not only do you get to walk through every corner of what was once the house of Australian democracy, the exhibits curated by the museum staff are simply outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the exhibit on democracy and Australian prime ministers. You could, in a matter of minutes, relive the complete history of Australian prime ministerial politics. I also enjoyed the electoral system exhibit which was super informative and explained the quite complex Australian electoral system from A to Z.Note: The senate chamber was closed during my visit. No sure what was the reason for this closure.

We had a tour with a volunteer guide, Wendy, who did an amazing job explaining to us more about the hidden history of this awesome building. Visit it with time to go through all the exhibitions (I personally loved the one about indigenous reconciliation and recover the lost art of writing letters"). In my opinion
