I recently purchased a set of gorgeous vintage Japanese wood-working chisels from Hata Knives for my extremely difficult-to-buy-for husband. Dealing with Hata over Messenger [I am in another state so couldn’t visit in person] was so easy. They suggested different combinations of chisels for different budgets and were so helpful and patient with my many questions.Transacting was very straightforward and I received the knives within a few days, very well packaged against damage in a lovely leather tool roll and LOTS of bubble wrap.I can’t wait to give them to my husband for Christmas.Hata also sent a link on how to keep them sharpened and in good condition. If we’re ever in the area, we’ll definitely pay a visit.Thank you, Hata for your excellent and efficient service!

Compared to expensive and possibly factory-made brand new knives that anyone can buy, each vintage piece being handmade, is unique which makes owning and using these knives, very personal.
