Pet friendly. Free. Drop toilets. very quiet spot. No reception. Buttercup 3&4 are the better ones. River crossing between buttercup 2&3. Easy to cross in in summer when its low but may be 4x4 only in wet months. Can access 3&4 from Carter's mill side with 2wd

Okay so there is a story behind this. We were headed up into the high country to see Craigs hut and as we were driving along we came across a tree across the road. So hubby got his chainsaw out and chopped it up and we were able to move it off the road for other travellers. We made our way up to Craigs Hut as well as other huts and then came back down and stayed at this free campsite for the night. Was quiet and there was a stream. Only toilets no showers. Dogs allowed.
