It’s true the food was above average but it was expensive. Pasta at $33 and fish at $42. Steak at &56. At these prices, your expectations rise - you expect the food to be even better, or the ambience to be special and so on. But it was basically a pub ambience. So be aware that you are going to pay above-pub prices, something which other reviewers don’t point out.

Outstanding service from all the wait staff—even though the place was packed on a very busy Friday night. Gabby did a brilliant job of making two blow-ins from the big city feel welcome. Our venison pot pie and rockling with sea vegetables were faultless. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

I enjoyed a yummy salmon dish, a nice wine and a desert here last Sunday evening. Met some interesting people at the bar (had two conversations) got looked after by all the team especially Alan the very friendly barman with great hospitality skills. Love the decor and the building itself. I’ll be back after packing up my Station Market stall that I attend fortnightly.Well done and thanks!

Obnoxious staff member, she was rude, no smiling and got annoyed when I advised that another friend was going to join in 30 mins and told me to come back to the front counter like I was her child. Weird to have rude Melbourne like service in the country. Plenty of nicer options around. Also looking at how the owner or manager responds to reviews I understand why the staff are down.

We stopped for an amazing Easter Monday lunch. Michelle had the beef rib accompanied by a glass of Bordeaux. Yum!I was memorised by the quality of the Roast Pork Belly. It was ridiculous. Paired with a local Heathcote Shiraz. I said to the waitress when she asked how was the meal".... I replied

My wife and I recently visited Farmers Arm Restaurant in Daylesford for lunch on a Sunday, and overall, had a pleasant experience. Reservation is compulsory, the restaurant being busy, but the service was efficient and attentive throughout our visit. The dining room was filled with natural light and had an old-world charm to it.We started our meal with a Charcuterie Plate. Flavourful and well-crafted delicious local cured meats accompanied by tangy and spicy guindillas, cornichons and mustard. Some local artisanal cheese varieties would be a welcome add to the dish. For our mains, we opted for the Venison Pot Pie which was a standout dish. Tender braised venison and bacon lardons flavoured with juniper berries in a rich red wine sauce cooked to perfection and sealed in a flaky and golden pastry crust. It was a comforting and satisfying dish that impressed us with the kitchen’s culinary skills. We were not very hungry after a big brekky and so were delighted to see Chartreuse on the menu. Dipta had it on the rocks and I settled with their signature cocktail Hep-burning Man - Absinthe, apricot brandy, and yellow Chartreuse. The cocktail was well-crafted and expertly balanced. Our orders were taken promptly, and the dishes arrived in a timely manner. The servers were friendly and accommodating, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal.We would recommend Farmers Arm Hotel to anyone looking for a satisfying dining experience in Daylesford.

Had a very decent lunch here with friends. Friendly, efficient service, we were greeted with a beaming smile and escorted to our table. The restaurant was not busy. There is a limited choice of freshly prepared dishes, the chef and staff can be seen working in the kithcen. I had the pork belly which was excellent; possibly the best on-meat cracking I've ever eaten. Baked cauliflower was also very good. The baked rockling and the mushroom pasta were OK.

Very disappointed in the quality of food for the price you pay! Ordered Seafood Spaghetti and did not receive one piece of fresh seafood which is what I would have expected for paying $38 for the meal. Additionally, I asked for some Parmesan Cheese which the waiter provided only to be charged $2 for such when I went to pay. Absolutely disgusted!

Found this amazing place on Google whilst spending the day in Daylesford. As you do with most pubs, you expect a pretty average meal experience, with the typical dishes on the menu and nothing really to rave about… this pub is not that! The restaurant was already booked out when we arrived, so we took a table in the main bar area, had a lovely glass of Malbec and waited for the kitchen to open. We were then kindly seated in the dining room as a booking wasn’t coming in until 7.30pm. I ordered the pork belly and my friend has the seafood pasta. Both dishes were outstanding - cooked to perfection! The dessert was very different and delicious as well. If I could give this place 6 stars I would.

This place pretty much failed on every aspect of a good dinner. Started good, they seated us...after that it went downhill. Service was inconsistent with no knowledge of the food when we asked questions. Took 45 minutes from ordering for food to arrive. We were a party of 9 and almost all us had issues, Half full and burnt Pies, missing drinks, overcooked steaks and every meal was just average. This would not be so bad if the prices we ok...but they're not...they are priced like a Hatted restaurant and marketed as great food and serivce. And the final sting in the tail" was a highly obscure and not mentioned or highlighted 8% surcharge...this took my steak to more than $60!. Would not recommend"
