Really bizarre pipeline of staff at this place - 20% will be polite, make conversation and smile; 40% will be having an inappropriately loud phone conversation and put your purchase through without eye contact or acknowledging your presence; 20% will do as above minus being on the phone, 10% will make incredibly racist statements unprompted and the remaining 10% will accuse you of stealing something five seconds after you've walked through the door.Stock consistency is all over the shop too - the place feels like it's going through perpetual debilitating renovations, so don't expect to be able to purchase anything from here with any remote consistency

It has range of basic needs in case you need smth in the middle of the night, or early morning

It's ok for emergency purchases. Obviously not as cheap as a normal Coles, but it'll get you out of the problem for basics like Milk, bread, etc.

Your average express. But always seem to have friendly chat staff and discounts if you buy toilet paper top make it 10 cents off. However, the Mobil distribution across the road is usually a lot cheaper fuel wise

Vpower petrol is better for your car than any other petrol available in melbourne. Try avoid small petrol stations (self owned) as i believe that the petrol is somtimes tapered with. Stick to coles or caltex .. also top staff!

Normally the service is good here, however today was bizarre. This older man named Sharma or something similar was very rude, he saw me walk in and wait to be served, and then he walked off to restock some shelves. It was very strange.. I waited a few minutes, and then he refused to sell me tobacco. I gave him my ID and he behaved like a bouncer or something, holding my license and looking at me and then back to my license about 3 or 4 times. He then just said “nahhhh”Very disappointed that this unhinged individual is in a customer facing role, he clearly had some issues and is not suited to serve the public.

This review isn't actually about the Coles Express, but about the park up the road, Davis Street Reserve. First of all, Google won't let me leave a review for the reserve so I can't let people know before they enter, but I need to draw attention to a little inconsistency around the park. The name of the park is 'Davis Street Reserve' but look just to north and what do you see? 'Davies Street'. That's right, Davies - not Davis. It utterly baffles me that you would name a park after a road but then misspell the name of the park. If you're going to insinuate that a park is named for the street on which it resides, you should at least have the decency to give it the same spelling as the name of that street. In fact, I don't believe that this is an innocent mistake at all but rather an oversight that hides a far more sinister truth about Davis Street Reserve. Not impressed.
